To be honest, as a game I thought it was amazing and definitely keeps you on your toes. Also I ADORE the artstyle which is what led me to buy the game in the first place. And then there's the story which is also pretty great while also having fun and engaging gameplay and puzzles. While I would give this game an 8 or 9 out of 10 sadly the game runs HORRIBLY even on low settings, like between high and low settings I saw no difference, so expect to experience frame drops, A LOT. Performance aside, the game is really good and I absolutely recommend. Just... DON'T CHANGE THE MAX FRAMERATE... Lastly, I wish "jumping" as a feature was a thing cause I think it could have added to the gameplay but that's just me and my preference.

Evil Nun: The Broken Mask takes the familiar premise of escaping a relentless supernatural pursuer and expands it into a polished survival horror experience that emphasizes tension, exploration, and clever problem-solving. Developed by Keplerians together with Carlos Coronado and published by Keplerians, the game reimagines the well-known Evil Nun universe with a much larger scope, delivering a standalone adventure that feels far more ambitious than its mobile origins. Instead of relying exclusively on sudden scares, it steadily builds suspense by placing players in a sprawling, mysterious school where every hallway, classroom, and hidden chamber may conceal either a clue or a deadly encounter. The story unfolds inside the eerie Eagle Junior High School, a place that outwardly resembles a religious boarding institution but hides disturbing secrets beneath its aging walls. Players awaken trapped within the facility, where the terrifying Sister Madeline patrols relentlessly with her signature oversized hammer. Every objective revolves around finding ways to survive, uncovering the school's unsettling history, and ultimately escaping before becoming another victim. Environmental storytelling gradually reveals the dark events surrounding the institution, encouraging players to investigate every accessible area while piecing together fragments of the narrative. Exploration serves as one of the game's strongest pillars. The school is surprisingly expansive, featuring interconnected sections, hidden rooms, secret tunnels, and numerous locked locations that gradually become accessible through puzzle progression. Instead of directing players down a straightforward path, the game rewards curiosity by hiding valuable items, lore, and optional discoveries throughout the environment. This design makes every successful shortcut or newly unlocked passage feel meaningful while reinforcing the sensation of slowly mastering an otherwise intimidating location. Stealth mechanics drive most of the gameplay, requiring patience and awareness rather than direct confrontation. Sister Madeline is not simply a scripted obstacle but an active threat that responds to sounds, investigates suspicious activity, and forces players to carefully consider every movement. Hiding, distracting the enemy, and choosing safe routes become essential survival skills. Her persistent presence creates a constant feeling of pressure, ensuring that even routine exploration can suddenly become nerve-racking when she begins closing in on the player's location. Puzzle-solving is equally important and provides satisfying variety throughout the adventure. Players search for keys, repair equipment, combine useful objects, activate mechanisms, and decipher environmental clues to unlock new areas. Many challenges encourage observation instead of trial and error, making progression feel rewarding once solutions become clear. The inclusion of multiple interactive systems, optional activities, and helpful characters adds additional layers to the gameplay, preventing the experience from becoming repetitive while maintaining a steady balance between exploration and suspense. Presentation is another area where the game excels. The visual overhaul gives the abandoned school a far more convincing atmosphere, with detailed interiors, effective lighting, and unsettling environmental design that constantly reinforces the feeling of isolation. Dim corridors, deteriorating classrooms, forgotten storage rooms, and hidden underground passages all contribute to a believable setting filled with dread. Combined with carefully crafted ambient audio, distant echoes, creaking structures, and Sister Madeline's unsettling voice, the soundscape keeps players tense even when no immediate danger is visible. Replay value is impressive thanks to multiple escape routes, alternative endings, hidden collectibles, adjustable difficulty settings, and numerous secrets scattered across the map. Rather than ending after a single successful escape, the game encourages players to return and experiment with different strategies while uncovering content they may have overlooked during earlier playthroughs. Completionists, in particular, will appreciate the amount of optional material that expands both the gameplay and the overall lore. The experience is not entirely flawless. Certain puzzles may require considerable backtracking, and players unfamiliar with exploration-heavy horror games could occasionally lose track of objectives. The deliberate pacing also favors methodical gameplay over fast action, meaning those expecting constant chase sequences may find quieter exploration segments slower than anticipated. However, these elements generally support the game's focus on building tension through careful planning rather than nonstop adrenaline. Overall, Evil Nun: The Broken Mask successfully transforms a recognizable horror franchise into a satisfying first-person survival horror adventure that stands confidently on its own. Its combination of atmospheric environments, intelligent stealth mechanics, engaging puzzles, meaningful exploration, and strong replayability creates an experience that remains tense from beginning to end. While a few pacing issues and moments of backtracking slightly affect the overall flow, they do little to diminish the quality of an otherwise well-crafted horror title that rewards both patience and curiosity. This game is just excellent, the other reviews summarize it perfectly. It gets even better if you're familiar with other Keplerians games, as the lore is a major factor of the enjoyment for me. Obviously, you need some intelligence for this game in order to escape Sister Madeline. Plus, the graphics are just, wow.
