13 years later and outlast Is still one of the best horror games ever made. Outlast Is a masterclass horror game In terms of extreme horror genre. Even If exaggerated at times with Its violence and shocking content. The world of outlast still feels believable. With It being connected to history of real life with nazi researchers to mentions of MKultra, Illegal experiments on humans, corporate greed and fanatical religious groups. with the stories of outlast games and official comics and real life. you do not need to fear monsters. Because Humans can be monsters themselves at times. Whether Its the murkoff corporation that makes money off of those who are suffering and unfortunate. Scientists doing illegal and questionable practices on both humans and animals. To cult leaders hurting their own followers and committing various horrible actions. To ordinary humans that we see everyday In Plain sight being murderers and other types of being vile. Some of the antagonists in the games have tragic backstories that you cannot help but feel bad for, even if It does not excuse their actions. Gameplay Is simple. you cannot fight, you can only run and hide. your only weapon Is your video camera. Use it to look through the dark, and be sure to save your batteries as best as you can. camera does not thankfully die when batteries run out, but the nightvision ability Is very weak when battery Is depleted. Use it to record certain events also unlocks notes that reveal more about our protagonist miles. speaking of that, I like the documents and notes you read. says more lore and story behind mount massive and Its people. The sound design Is excellent. and the horror Is quite dreadful. beautiful graphics too. absolutely love the gore. Outlast 1 and Its DLC will always remain my favorite In outlast franchise and horror games In general. I like trials In second place. outlast 2 In third. I liked outlast 2 aswell but... I prefer those two games over sequel.
very spooky game. mainly cos chris walker is chopped and fat, trager got a receeding hairline, and father martin is old. play the game urself, it's completely different from watching someone else play. u get to ♥♥♥♥ ur own pants but not that much ig only sometimes. environment is well built, it had me clenching and spooked. the place is rly nasty tho, should be shut down for health/hygiene violations (and ethics, and stinkiness, and choppedness, and for being spooky). other than the jumpscares and being chased, there isn't really much scare, just blood and ethically questionable decisions. the fact that ts probably happening irl pmo but idk man i have a tinfoil hat. 10/10 game. i'm scared to play the dlc. highk want to complete it on insane mode but i don't have the balls to do that. i'm not a man so it's ok.
No matter how many years pass, this game will remain the best in its genre for me. Watching a walkthrough several years ago and playing it now, I feel the same horror and fear. Maybe you can even remember when you first heard about this game and how Outlast evoked new emotions and impressions of this genre in so many people. Not only is there a great plot and the fact that you yourself feel the horror the main character goes through, but the whole aesthetic of a crazy hospital, the conversations of crazy patients, the story itself is so crazy and good that it evokes admiration and you begin to wonder if everything is okay with you, that you like it. Not to mention, I'm sure some people still think Gluskin or Trager is Hear Me Out (I'm with you guys, I'm with you) Nowadays, there are already a huge number of horror films and films, especially about psychiatric hospitals, but the mark the first Outlast left on me will never compare to any other horror and the emotions I still experience to this day
Outlast is the best horror game i have ever played. no weapons just run and hide your only tool is your camra that works like a flashlight and when the battries die the fear gets worse and its just pitch black many jumpscare the good thing about the jumpscares is the game dosent play the same type of jumpscare again every jumpscare is diffrent from the last one. the game is too realistic and its pure horror at its finest.
