Why are you reading this, go play this haha! Very interesting game. I think I'm most intrigued by the story. The gameplay is okay-I played on easy and still died a couple times and you have to restart the whole level when that happens although you can accept a card right at the start that crosses out a bunch of area making it not as brutal to start over. I do kinda worry about the next 2 acts though-this was fine but having to do the whole hunting thing with the cards for 2 more acts would become tedious. I'll do it because I'm too invested in the story but shaking it up a bit would be nice
The gameplay and the story got me hooked, I love the dynamic of hunting the NON-BELIEVERS! The many scares got me good, no cheap jumpscares, actual horrors. There's a lot of pre-game strategy and items to help you. Each mission brings something new to the table. You think you're safe but someone or something always watches you. Highly recommend. Can't wait for ACT 2 to come out. Keeping my eye on this! PS: I only found out on the 3rd mission that you can use portals by holding the interaction key, that's pretty dumb on my part lmao (maybe have a hold interact prompt? That's just my little nitpick, the game is excellent c: ). Felt very nice to get an S rank on the second mission! FEED THE PIT!
This game's first act was a well thought out experience that surprisingly never wavered once. The gameplay loop is unique, fun, and engaging. It is familiar to me and I enjoyed the "Hide and Seek" aspect of the map and cards. The monster were cool and pretty scary, albeit not the most unique. I did not spend much time with the Flesh Thief, but the other two monsters in the game (the Spriggan and Little Rabbit) were frightening to say the least -- especially the Spriggan. However the thing I enjoyed the most out of this game was the story, The dialogue was fun and engaging, it felt human and each character has their own quirk which I liked too. The gameplay loop accompanied by the overarching mystery with minigames sprinkled in between missions can't help but remind me of Five Nights at Freddy's so I am very very excited to see where the rest of the story goes! Great game, worth the buy, and doing so directly supports funding to the next two acts (as stated by the devs in their most recent dev log) so pick it up! Solid 9.1/10!!
