I play a lot of games, I have for nearly 30 years. My entire life, has been music, and gaming. Sometimes, you come across special little gems in gaming, just as you would with a song that finds you at the right time in your life. As a fan of JRPGs, Emo, Punk, Metal, and MUSIC in general... This game is a masterpiece. I can tell that so much love and passion went into making it something quirky and fun, but with heart, and care. Sure, a bug here and there. Some options I'd like to see added. But overall... man, what can I say. It's a non-traditional turn based RPG with Guitar Hero/Rock Band segments. References to all sorts of music and bands I love (I see you Mr. Kem Mikkel), and just SO many creative nods to music, musicians, writers, and little things that musicians know and love, like riffs, pedals, and such. I love it. I am sitting here writing this, just before what I know has to be the final boss. And I can't wait to play the game again. Even more so, I really hope this game gets a sequel. I can only imagine what could be done from here. Maybe we command a full band? Maybe we can compose our own riffs using some sort of MIDI system, and use those in battle? It feels like the sky's the limit. Devs, if you read this... you did a great job. Everyone involved, I do mean everyone. I'm giving this my #1 game of 2025 spot. I gifted it to like 3 or 4 people last night. You deserve the support. *UPDATE* And I beat it, and enjoyed going back through what I missed to get the rest of the Achievements... my first 100% on Steam, by the way!

Dang, this game is GOOD. i bought this as a long time fan of Rob Scallon, music, and turn based RPG's; and this game absolutely nails it in all those categories. Im also a fan of card battlers/deck builders, in which this game's combat system ended up being clearly inspired by. So this game is perfect for me personally. More specifically, for an RPG, this game is fairly short and fairly linear as a whole, but the combat has a lot depth and variety keeps me wanting to try new things. The Combat is very reminiscent of Slay the Spire with a deck of 16 cards/riffs that you collect/upgrade that you play 3 per turn in response to a prediction of what your opponent(s) will do. Likewise, each weapon/instrument is functionally a different character/class in how it completely changes your playstyle; between available card pool, passive ability, and strategies baked into the cards. Overall, feels very nice to play mechanically. The piece de resistance is how all of that (and the rest of the game for that matter) is woven together musically. Your instrument/weapon of choice dictates the battle music (barring bosses) but your skills/attacks you activate all play an actual unique 1 bar riff in time and harmony with the music and so does all the enemy attacks and abilities. The music is likewise all-around *top-notch* making this feature incredible to experience. In turn, music is ingrained into every fiber of this game thematically: Brutal Legend is about the best comparison i can think of. Ultimately, just buy the damn thing. Soundtrack too. Both are incredible and ill be talking about this game for a long time. only complaint i really have is I wish it was longer.

I've only played the first hour but this game is special. A wonderful celebration of music and indie games put together. Very satisfying combat with 10/10 music playing every second of the experience. Really great stuff, thank you Rob! I love what you've done!
