I was about to refund this game, but then I realised this is basically the only franchise where you can actually play against AI with complete progression on, and it's actually challenging enough! In a gaming industry obsessed with monetization and gacha, that on its own is a miracle.

Good to see the ANZAC's getting the spotlight in a game. It dose have a few bugs such as other players disappearing when not aiming down sights. But it is still quite fun to play and the bugs are relatively uncommon even when in a full server at high ping.

Gallipoli is the best game in the series by far. It's taken some steps in the direction of realism compared to prior games, which you'd think would make it more difficult to get into, but in reality I think makes a far smoother gaming experience on the whole. The series' games were very arcadey with the caveat that you die very quickly. When the teams were balanced, it was spectacular. But if a few players (or in some cases even a single player) were on a skill level above the rest of the lobby, they would dominate the game and it wouldn't be very fun, especially for more casual or newer folk. Verdun and Tannenberg worked out because they're very arcadey to begin with, but it was always a crapshoot trying to introduce friends to Isonzo, the game where the studio began taking some steps towards focusing on realism. Gallipoli's jumps in the direction of realism actually end up evening out the playing field enough that it's much more difficult to snipe people across the map or go on massive killstreaks on your own, and it highlights ways to contribute to the team aside from just making kills. I'm actually looking forward to bringing friends onto this game because I know they'll feel like they can contribute and have a good time. The old games were very much run, point-and-shoot. Gallipoli has some weight to movement and depth to gunplay. Other misc points: Isonzo's classes suffered from having several playstyles and perks dominate them, and had some odd combinations. Gallipoli works that out by streamlining roles into additional classes that have a purpose and are able to focus on that purpose better, while the kit system still allows for some versatility. Graphics are great. Music is amazing and thematic. Customization is improved a lot and I greatly enjoy the subfactions. Voice lines are fun, and animations are good. Gun models are rather close, but I got used to it quickly and don't mind it at all. I can see the purpose. AI feels better than prior games (not that that's a terribly high bar), though I can't say I've had much experience yet. AI will play officer and use call-ins now. Love it on the whole, I literally can't go back to the prior games after this. I just find myself wishing they were more like Gallipoli.

This is honestly coming to be my most favorite game in the series! The gunplay is the most refined feature feeling weighted and heavy! The combat system is peak too, down to the suppression mechanics! When your character gets shell shocked, you can hear him start to panic, and his gun become shaky! A lot of people are complaining about the move speed.. Get off of COD buddy. The average Aussie had to carry 59 - 74 lbs. Let's strap that to your back and see how fast you can run while getting shot at. Most of the negative reviewers need to lose their review privileges. They are comparing it to squad and BF1, they aren't trying to be those games. The WWI series has had it's own distinctive gameplay with this one being the best yet! My PC specs aren't the best, but even with my specs I get a solid average of 60 - 80 fps! This game is peak. Everyone complaining is just some basement dweller who's too used to the fast-paced movement from COD.

It might need balance on some maps but the game is totally fire. Don't mind others who say slow movement or something, it's actually fine and fair, this is not Call of Duty. Well, they delivered what Battlefield 1 couldn't. It's a great game. Go get it.
