You can use any team composition and it will work. Gets really grindy later on when you're too high level for the weekly tournaments but not strong enough to beat the monthly tournaments or missions. So you just have to keep grinding the easy weeklies but they barely give xp to level up your dudes. I would only recommend this during a sale

Well done, auto battler, sort of short, but fun. Honestly, it's a genre that's undeserved. Think Football Manager, or F1 Manager, but for fantasy heroes and a lot faster and fluid. There's variety, fun combos, broken OP items, satisfying battles, and cool progression. It's quick, it flows well, the story and tone worked for me, graphics were sufficient. Replayability is questionable, and I have desired to go through it again to see a marginally different ending, but it was a fun rump, reasonably priced and worth the time.

I've been rewatching the Sparatcus tv show and I decided it's time to actually try out Gladiator Guild Manager (GGM) because I bought it when it first came out and never got a chance to play it. Turns out, I can't believe I waited almost a year to try it. I've been having a blast! So let's get down to it and discuss the pros and cons of GGM. Pros: * 20+ different gladiators all with unique abilities, fighting styles and visuals. Each gladiator will have it's usefulness in a variety of situations. Playing on the normal mode, you'll have to unlock gladiators as you play. Each gladiator is broken up into 3 stat types Strength, Agility and Intellect (which have sub-classes like tank, crowd control, healers, dps etc). You'll get weapons and have the chance to unlock perks that will help you craft your style of play. Managing your gladiators isn't a chore or does it feel grindy and it's also satisfying. * There are 3 different factions that push the story forward, each faction gives rewards after they "rent" your gladiators for missions. When you complete a mission for a faction you'll also get positive rep for them and generally lose rep with another faction. So basically you have 3 separate stories happening as you play the campaign. There are choices to be made, but not sure how much those choices really affect the game. Either way, the stories are cute, silly and fun. * LOTS of different gear, consumables and perks. There's no shortage of upgrades for your characters and your base. * This is of course an auto battler game, but it's actually neat you can see your gladiators do their unique abilities and see how they change the battle based on what traits and abilities you give them. * GGM is also a strategy game, you'll need to make sure your team of gladiators has adequate healing, tanks and dps. You'll find out about half way through if you concentrate on one area too much you'll start to get crushed. But that's a good thing, it makes the game more interesting and keeps it from getting stale. * Although I've seen people complain about bugs after nearly 8 hours, I've yet to see a single bug in the game. So that's great news! * Definite replay-ability, the mechanics and core loop is fun enough where I can see myself playing it again after finishing it Cons: * This is a repetitive game, so be warned! But if you've played any auto battler games then you should probably know that already. So this shouldn't even be a con. * Sometimes I don't think items will trigger properly and combo with other items or traits. This is kind of annoying because you build a gladiator a certain way and they don't end up working like they should 100% of the time. * On a handful of occasions you'll notice your gladiator stand there and do nothing during battle, I'm not sure what makes that happen. They aren't stunned or have any negative effects placed on them. It has to be a bug. Other people have commented on it as well, unfortunately no fix has been released or any comments from devs yet. This is probably the most negative thing I can say about GGM and the team behind it. * Maybe a little too much micromanaging of your gladiators which includes constantly making sure they have the best gear or have the best upgraded talents. Honestly, my list of complaints is so small for GGM that I almost didn't bother to make a pros and cons list. I felt that the repetitive point had to made though just in case someone interested in GGM has never played an auto battler game before. Regardless, Entertainment Forge has created a well worth the price game ($14.99 USD) and I can't wait to see what else they have in mind for auto playing games. Big old thumbs up, folks!

A very fun auto battler. It took me quite a while to get into it due to the lack of proper help/tooltips - there is a lot of very basic information that is left out. For example, you can set the priority of who your units concentrate on but nowhere is it explained that you can only do this at the start of a battle. Once I figured that out I realised that this wasn't that useful, I'm not sure why the developers didn't allow the priority to be set during battle. If they felt this would make the game to easy they could have put the ability on a cooldown. The way it is now there is no control during battle, you just watch. I know what an auto battler is, I expect most of the battle to be automatic, but not all of it. Regardless, the game still manages to be very fun but any game can be improved. Update - finished the main quest with the peasant faction. Definitely a fun game that is well worth the modest asking price. I still think that a bit more interactivity during the battles would be nice. Yes it is an auto battler but that doesn't mean that I just want to watch the combat with no input at all after it starts.

'One more turn' of auto-battling gladiator team. Some might say it's lacking content but I had a blast with it. I won't mind to buy a DLC for it though. Or I hope someone takes this concept and makes full-blown Wartales out of it.
