this game is not for everyone, there isn't a lot of objectives to do. your main goal is just to catch little gnomes. but I personally enjoyed it, especially the atmosphere and the aesthetic... I love the design of the game overall, just wished there were more to it.

Gnomes and Knights has a very interesting premise just like the popular meme in which your a medieval knight who's seeking out or essentially capturing gnomes for your own personal goals, whether that's for "Path of Virtue", "Path of Greed" or "Path of Nobility. I personally chose "Path of Greed" as I wanted to try to claim as many gnomes as possible for my own financial means. That being said, the game has 5 levels which are a forest, a swamp, a cemetery, a castle and finally an enchanted shopping mall. Within each level, the player or "The Knight" in this case is suppose to use their sword to hit each prop that the gnome is hiding in. Within each level the prop is different and to figure out what prop you should be hitting, you can get the information from each strange character on each level identified by the gnome on the map. Additionally, each level also has it's own trinket that you are required to chase down and use to find the gnome as the trinket will shake rapidly when the gnome is nearby. You can find the trinket also on the map identified by the circle. In addition to that, The gnome's eye's on the UI will light up if you are going in the right direction to where the gnome is hiding, so it's a good navigational tool to find the gnome. When you do find the gnome, the gnome will quickly jump out and either stun you (Get Gnomed!) or not stun you and it's up to you to try to chase down the gnome and catch it. After catching the gnome, there is then a mini-game with a meter where you have to get the arrow within the meter each time as the meter will continue to decrease to eventually actually capture the gnome and that's how you play Gnome and Knights. Thankfully there is a sprint meter which does help easily catch the gnomes, However it can be super frustrating still trying to actually capture the gnomes as the meter mini game will continue to decrease rapidly as you play it until you finally capture the gnome so your timing has to be spot on. In terms of "Path of Virtue", "Path of Greed" or "Path of Nobility, each play through allows you meet different strange characters and they all have their own endings which is nice for replay-ability if you really enjoy the Gnomes and Knights premise like I do. Overall, I really enjoy the nature of this game as it's essentially a hide and seek game with a dark fantasy vibe and I also really enjoy the 90's graphics and the soundtrack that plays both the original as well as the meme soundtrack. That said, I think anyone would like this game if they either enjoy the meme, Like the idea of a "Knight Hunting Gnomes for Personal Rewards" or want to experience a really interesting game of "Hide and Seek from a Dark Fantasy Perspective". In terms of improving the game, I would like the developer to add in a harder difficulty in which the mini game for actually capturing the gnomes is much harder that way players can't just breeze through levels and by players beating this, they unlock something special. Also, I think it would be cool if the developer also added in a clock timer mode in which players had to catch each gnome on each level in a certain amount of time in order to unlock a secret ending or something special or unique for doing so. Regardless, It's a good hide and seek game! 8/10! Highly Recommend. Definitely worth keeping in Steam Library just to see what the developer can do moving forward with this game.

Completed noble playthrough. Didn't believe their lies. Gnomes died. Saved village. Win game. More playthroughs soon. Different ending? Repetitive? Don't know. But gnomes must die. Stylish. Great music. Personality everywhere. Big thumbs up. Worth a single playthrough for pricetag alone.
