My friends and I love playing this game. I like to describe it as a combination of Lethal Company and Stardew Valley fishing but with way better graphics. It has the outward appearance of a more chill game than the usual idea of horror games (Phas, R.E.P.O., DBD, etc). However, despite the relaxing fishing vibe, you're trying to beat the clock and fulfil the quota before nightfall. The tutorial was confusing for me (and all my friends were confused by it too). It says things like "grab bait" but doesn't explain what bait is (worms, frogs, spiders, gorillas, human corpses, etc). Then it also says to sacrifice fish at the altar but doesn't guide you to where the altar is (it's to the right of the cabin on the lake map if looking the direction of the cabin, and appears as a rock crater). IMPORTANT TIPS: - bait must be equipped *every time* by pressing TAB and selecting bait - monsters will come out at night, so try to get the quota met before then - when you have a fish on the line, try to keep the bar in the middle, not too high or too low - cook fish to make them worth more (there's a starter grill in the cabin) - don't put more fish in the altar after the fire turns blue, meaning quota is met, and instead throw them on the cabin floor for next quota or sell them - remember to choose some perks in the lobby! I think beer gives you a fishing boost, though I'm not sure how much of a boost or for how long. Bait is better for fishing boosts. Also, it annoys me that after you and your friends all die, the game ends and you get kicked to the main menu instead of back to the lobby. Your character customization will reset to default with every new game you make. Yes, this game is FULL of glitches and unfortunate designs that should be fixed. HOWEVER, it is super fun to have laughs with your friends. There's so much dumb horror stupidity in this. I don't want to spoil it, but let's just say deciding which one of your friends is going to loop a crazed mama for several minutes so we can sell her baby, yelling "WHY MEEEEE" as you get dragged in the water, and wondering who big monster daddy is gonna touch after not meeting quota... is HILARIOUS!!! The devs are still actively working on the game and I have confidence the poor designs and bug will be fixed in the future. Even with them, I still believe whole-heartedly that GONE Fishing is **ABSOLUTELY** worth the purchase! 3.5/5 stars (Would be 4.5/5 if the annoying things I listed above were fixed)

your bro can be murdered in front of you by a creature beyond comprehension and you can then use their corpse as bait to catch real good fish i mean the game pays for itself

Don't listen to the haters. This game has the potential to be the next lethal company. It's really fun when it works. There's tons of silly stuff in here, which makes it really fun. In our playtime we had a giant floating fishing rod, fishing up a leg and gambling it to make it huge, grilling the leg, and stealing crocodile babies in exchange for someone's life. Some feedback for the developer because I saw you were read reviews, which is great: I played with four players. It would be nice if the rest of my friends could get in on it, even if it breaks the game balance. In that note, we had someone named Developer_skin joined our session, which was really weird considering the lobby only had four players. The fishing minigame sometimes not working is infuriating. Not sure if it's intentional or not, as it almost seems so, but putting your rod in the lake and having to wait until the mini game works is really frustrating. Would rather have some indicator that it isn't going to work. It's hard to tell what to do in the fishing minigame at first as well. The UI is kind of a pain. If it could be optimized it would be nice. Things like catching fish and having to switch bars to get it off the line and then having to switch back, not being entirely clear what's on the grill, the quota not changing on some people's ui, etc. All this would go to making the game a lot more smooth to play. There could be more done with the upgrades - very solid state of progression. It seems my friends liked the gambling the fish part. A lot. Tons of content can come out of that. Please hide more stuff around the maps, it was fun to explore even if we got ganked by two monsters who trapped us in the cave. Would be nice if the other cabins had beds. I'm sure since it's in early access you'll address these issues, but great game so far.
