Much like Gorn, if you let people play this game, they are likely to at minimum punch your wall , if not outright damage your controllers! I have lost not one but two controllers to guests playing Gorn and wishing such levels of violence upon these cartoon muscley dudes that the hardware could not endure. The illusion of "you're in a big arena" combines with "there is a huge guy slowly walking toward you with murderous intent" that your brain doesn't even consider the chaperone bounds as you punch my wall. Great fun! Physically challenging too.

I'd say it's absolutely worth the price and a fun experience. If you didn't play Gorn 1, you'll definitely enjoy this. If you did, here are the differences I saw: 1. This game is less technical than Gorn 1. Which is surprising as Gorn 1 isn't a particularly technical game. But it is essentially the VR equivalent of a button masher. In Gorn 1, a precise slash would take an enemy's head off, but in Gorn 2, it is clearly just damaging them and reducing an invisible health bar. 2. This game is straight up easier than Gorn 1. Gorn 1 lets you get hit one time and if you don't kill an enemy pretty quickly, you die. In Gorn 2, you can get hit multiple times while damaged and the timer for killing an enemy is pretty long. I played through the entire game on my first try with no deaths, and I haven't played Gorn 1 in a year. 3. The structure is different, and I prefer Gorn 2's story to Gorn 1's vague progression. Gorn 2 makes sense what you're doing and why the whole time. Though I will say, in games like these, you can get away with having a vague story or no story at all. So, Gorn 2 is fun, relatively easy but still a decent challenge, and much more new player friendly than Gorn 1. If not for all the gore and adult references, I'd think this was geared a bit towards a younger audience. Do not regret my purchase at all.

It's like more and less of Gorn 1. Like, now you fight in death arenas where each arena has different themes and a different environmental hazard to either assist or deter you. They also got rid of the ability to utilize the "rubber" weapons like in the first Gorn. In the first gorn you could hold a morning star, grab the spike ball part with your other hand, pull it back and release it like a slingshot and it would just slap enemies. However the annoyances make it hard to want to keep playing. The annoying things are when you go to a new arena. First you have to walk through a tunnel but you move very slowly. Then you have to sit and listen to the arena boss/king prattle on about how much you smell. Then you finish a few waves and the arena boss kicks you out. Then you get to decide to continue on in that arena or move to another one. If you accidently leave at any point during your first encounter with the new arena, you will have to redo all the aforementioned stuff again until you finish round 1. The other really really annoying thing is whenever you bring up the menu, a stupid pop up comes up to tell you how they have mods on mods.io and to get rid of you you have to hit a little x and then you can use the options. The pop up will always pop up. There is no way of saying, "Yes, I #@$@% get that you have mods on mod.io so now can you @#$@$ off?!" Get it on sale because it is still entertaining but the annoyances, not even bugs, will make you regret paying full price for it.

This game is fun, hella fun. I refunded the original and thought it would be stupid to buy the second one but I did anyway, and super enjoy it. Love the sillyness, the dialogue, the characters, the expressions, the weapons. Punching / hand to hand could be better but it’s grrrrrreat!

Compared to the first game, its pretty good. Better level and enemy variety imho but worse boss fights. Also I miss the hand augments like the wrist crossbow or grappling hooks. :steamsad:
