What this game lacks in depth, it makes up in heart. It's nostalgic JRPG comfort food for people that have gotten tired of Dragon Quest and Lunar.

Que jogo! Foi uma aventura e tanto, com um final mais que satisfatório! RPG oldschool, com uma jogabilidade bem fluída (exceto os mapas), levando-se em conta a época do lançamento original. Ótimos personagens e uma ótima história! Vale muito a pena para quem curte um JRPG das antigas.

Like most JRPG's of this era, your tolerance for its systems in this modern age will vary but if you are looking for a lengthy role playing game with a memorable cast, fun combat and an engrossing story, Grandia still holds up today.

The game won’t boot on Deck, but if you follow the steps from andres on ProtonDB, you can get the game and FMVs to run. Ran great after some tinkering. You can also remove the ugly sprite filter by just removing some files. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2369504101 Trust me, you’ll want this because some of the sprite work and animations are gorgeous! Outside of that, this was my first time playing to prep for the Lunar collection coming out soon and boy did this game deliver. Outside of the combat being great, exploring the world was very fun and really did evoke the sense of going of a grand adventure. The localization is the same as it was in the original, typos and all. A product of its time but you do have the option between English/Japanese voices. I stuck with the cheesy English dub lol, gave it more of a Saturday morning cartoon feel. Only thing I didn’t really enjoy was the game got pretty grindy in the second half. Not a hard game at all but if you’re the type of person who likes to max out their party’s stats, it will take you a VERY long time. I wish there was battle speedup here but the game is basically a straightforward port no bells and whistles attached. Regardless this is a great JRPG that I highly recommend

Grandia is an incredible game. I have totally fallen in love with it's story and characters it's so vibrant and has a lot of personality. I'm so glad I gave this game a shot. Grandia has quickly became my favorite jrpg of all time.
