Long story short if you have ever watched or played Ready Or Not, this is a more Military based version while still having some urban or city style missions. It has better customization in my opinion especially when it comes to uniform. Maps, Missions, Guns, Uniforms, Gear, Community, ect is all great no downsides in my view.

Ground Branch has a solid foundation to become a great FPS eventually, but once you've played for a few hours or so, you'll start to notice why the game is still in early access. Some things to consider before you buy (the not so good stuff): The game as it currently stands is more of a tactical OP simulator than a game. If you're looking for any sort of narrative or story driven content, the game doesn't have it yet (this is still a WIP according to the roadmap). There are no friendly AI teammates currently available for solo players in any game mode (this is also a WIP). The enemy AI is very robotic. This is probably the biggest immersion breaker for me currently. I struggled to find a difficulty setting for the AI that struck a nice balance between too easy and too hard. Changing the AI difficulty settings doesn't appear to change any of their logic, just their "stats", such as how far they can detect you, how accurate they are, etc. On smaller maps, almost every enemy AI flocks to the sound of gunfire like moths to a flame, making it pretty easy to cheese engagements if you're on the edge of a map and have good cover to move back and forth from. Enemies will frequently just stand in open areas, or be staring at a wall corner when you breach a room. Like many other reviews have pointed out: Enemy AI feels more akin to moving targets than actual "human like" opponents. While the weapon customization and gun play are top notch, enemy ragdolls and hit reactions still need work. Shooting an enemy registers no effect other than a bullet impact. Regardless of whether or not they're armored, enemies are not staggered, nor do they show any visible signs of injury. Killing an enemy with a 9mm pistol will often times feel like you've just blasted a dude with a shotgun. Shooting an enemy in the head from an angle perpendicular to the direction they're facing will often cause the enemy to ragdoll like they've been blasted from the front, when they should be falling down sideways due to the trajectory and angle of impact from the shot. Unsure if this is a bug, but AI enemies will use absurd amounts of grenades - to the point where it's comical. The good: Environment and level design is fantastic, these are some of the coolest maps I've played in any FPS, and they offer great diversity in environments. The only thing lacking is a dynamic weather system. Weapon customization and feel is superb. The only game I've played that has more in depth customization is Tarkov. Lots of game customization for solo/co-op. You can fine tune enemy AI stats, there is a full day/night cycle for every map, you can choose when to deploy (night ops are pretty sweet), and the game randomizes objectives/enemy spawns enough for decent replay value. Conclusion: If you're looking for a polished experience, Ground Branch is not there yet. I found myself drifting in and out of immersion while playing, mostly due to enemy AI. However, I am still giving this a "recommended" because I do think these devs are tapping into something special here, and I see the potential of this game. The tactical FPS genre is in desperate need of co-op & solo friendly PvE games that actually see a 1.0 release. I'd much rather take a chance and support a small, passionate dev team like this than a studio that churns out the FPS equivalent of Madden every year.

If you're into tactical shooters, yes, I would recommend it. It's a military version of Ready or Not but way less developed, which is my main concern. This game has been in development for a long, long time, and I didn't continue playing because there was very little progress. It needed urgent tuning specially on the AI. Or having a friendly AI. Maps and guns are obviously very welcomed, but there are other priorities to get your game on the market and raise it to the current standards. Saying this, I still recommend it if you're a milsim nerd like me. If you're not... look at alternatives.

A fun milsim with very generous weapon customization (and the Workshop allows for plenty more). It's nice not having fixed rail positions on the weapons, so if you want to push your optic all the way to the front of the weapon or adjust where the attachments are, you're free to do so. Enemy AI is decent, and missions are very customizable. As someone who usually plays solo or only with one or two friends, I appreciate some consideration given to those who don't really have a "group" or just dont like randoms. You can customize AI difficulty values and how many are present, so a solo player can shrink the enemy size if they choose for more fair missions, or tweak their stats from "walking RP dummy" to "john wick sniperbot". It's a very appreciated feature!
