this game is absolutely the purest form of perfection. One of my first games that i played when i was 12 years old with my uncle -> pure nostalgia. Sad that the next series were such a disappointment. Also try the other 2 DLCs. Can't go wrong with them. They are even an upgrade from this.

For those looking to play again... Works well without issues or glitches. Old school, but very clean and functional. For first timers... If you want a turn base RPG city/army builder with a retro storyline you are all set here. The price is right and HoMMV does a good job taking the best from previous versions to give you a feel for the series. Hopefully you enjoy as many of us classic gamers have.

To me, best game in the series, even above III. I wish they would have remastered it with the DLCs so you can play with the 3rd variant of troops in the main story.

This is such a classic. I played it all those years ago at my uncle's house and really forgot about its name. Now playing it as an adult is quite scintillating. I'm really enjoying my time playing it.
