A fun little game. It's not as hard as many other logic games I've played such as knights or flower. After playing for only an hour I've gotten through half the levels on hard. The music is mellow and immerses you into a flow state of puzzle solving. Obviously the game is about to get harder, but I don't know what to expect in terms of difficulty. Hopefully it's not a plateau or a sharp jump. I am very optimistic.

This is a fantastic puzzle game! If you're a fan of mathematics and logic puzzles involving numbers, this game is absolutely worth it even at full price. I feel like I got an insane deal getting this on sale, it is seriously a steal even at the game's full price simply considering puzzle quantity (over 100 puzzles + infinite replay mode for each themed level) and diversity (multiple biomes with a different puzzle theme). Beyond the well-designed mathematics/logic puzzles that become diverse through themed levels, there is absolute excellence in visual and audio design, the difficulty progression, the user-experience, and the secrets + the infinity levels. This game is so pleasant to look at and listen to (a bit subjective but still)! I have been playing this game on-and-off for a while now, and I can say that this game fits both "a puzzle a day" or "complete all these puzzles in one go!!!" play-styles. Further, as an achievement goblin, I enjoyed both being challenged by puzzles (each themed zone starts easy and becomes more difficult) AND getting a nice little achievement when completely finishing a zone's tougher, secret puzzles. For me, the secret puzzles and the infinity mode puzzles really are the cherry on top for this game, as it solidifies the game's replay value! Regarding difficulty, you can either play on regular mode, where rows will light up once you have the correct row values, or on hard mode where you don't get visual feedback on row value being correct (so you have to keep values of the row in your head, makes it tougher to see if you made a mistake somewhere, etc.). There are some achievements associated with hard mode; but there are extensive guides for this game on the community page if needed, and it's easy to mix and match which mode you want to play depending on your own style and preference for a specific level. Another thing I am only now realizing on reflection-- this game involves no language. Everything is communicated visually, in a way that is (in my opinion) generally intuitive. Hence, there is little to no language barrier involved for this puzzle game, which can be a bonus for some people :) In addition, looking through the community pages, the devs were responsive with fixing an achievement bug through a patch, which further shows the care the devs have put into the quality of this game. Fantastic game, I really think it deserves more love! Give it a chance :) P.S, in terms of total gameplay hours, For the base game, I would say the basic 90 levels can take anywhere between 2-5 hours depending on game-mode; secret levels add about 2 hours on top of that, and then there is infinity mode which adds more gameplay time. With about 3 hours on-record playing on hard mode, I'm currently at level 70 (out of 90) with about 15 (out of 21?) secret levels completed. Might edit this once I am fully done game. Edited to Add: last two biomes went quicker than expected, completely done the game with about 3.7 hours, I can expect more gameplay from playing infinite levels, going back to harder levels over time, and checking out the community workshop levels! Overall, you're likely getting at least 5 hours of puzzling gameplay out of this, probably more if you come back to it every once in a while throughout the years. Most reviews that seem to have completed most of the game range at least 8 hours, some even hitting over 20 hours. Genuinely one of my favorite logic games at the moment! P.P.S. There is also an android version of this game available for a bit less $ which some reviews point out. But on steam this does go on sale for about the same price, if not cheaper. I personally enjoyed the computer version + having access on steam (community workshop, achievements, etc.), but a phone/tablet/touch-screen can be better for some, which is something to consider.

Fun little logic puzzler of easy to moderate difficulty. The game has ~200 puzzles and takes maybe 5-10 hours to 100% complete. My only complaint is that some puzzles are quicker solved by trial and error, rather than pure logic. Also the visual clarity is sometimes a bit poor: With all the mechanics introduced towards the end of the game, it can be hard to discern the board.

Hexologic I could immediately tell that this was gonna be a solid puzzle game. As it states, it has it's similarities to Sudoku with how you can piece together a level with just a few starting hints. Each world introduces a new mechanic, all of which are logically inclined with no guessing necessary. Worth full price. Gameplay The concept is very simple, fill the hexes with a number of dots so that their sum matches the one given at the edge, the limit of 3 dots per hex is what gives you clear start points for every level, see a 9 at the edge of 3 hexes? all hexes are guaranteed to be 3 dots, slowly helping you reveal the whole level, no guessing required at any point. Knowing this, I played through the whole game in hard mode and it was a good challenge, new mechanics are added as you progress with each being interesting and not taking away logic from the levels. Achievements (11/11) Playing the whole game in hard mode and completing all special levels as you unlock them will grant you all achievements upon beating the final level. Settings/Accessibility/Misc Works well on steamdeck. Level select available. Infinite bonus levels available. Keyboard, mouse and gamepad support. 27 languages supported.
