Home and Dungeon is a fantasy action RPG developed by Manufacture and published by OTAKU Plan that successfully combines dungeon exploration with town management and life simulation. Rather than focusing solely on defeating monsters and collecting treasure, the game introduces a more meaningful objective by placing players in charge of building a welcoming settlement for people who have been rejected because of their heritage. This combination of combat, crafting, and community-building gives the adventure a distinctive identity that stands apart from more conventional RPGs. The story centers on Shiro, a half-elf adventurer who encounters Ryuna, a young woman born to an elf and an orc. Because both races view her as an outsider, she has nowhere to belong. Determined to change that reality, Shiro begins establishing a village where everyone can live without prejudice. This simple but heartfelt premise provides a strong narrative foundation for the game's progression, as every new building, resident, and facility reflects the player's efforts to transform a lonely frontier into a flourishing community. The narrative emphasizes hope and cooperation, making the journey feel more rewarding than a typical quest to save the world. Exploration forms the backbone of the gameplay. Players venture into dangerous dungeons filled with monsters, gather valuable materials, uncover equipment, and strengthen their character through combat. The action is approachable while still offering satisfying progression, rewarding careful preparation and consistent upgrades. Loot collected during expeditions is never just a means of increasing combat power; it also contributes directly to the expansion of the settlement, creating a satisfying gameplay loop where every successful adventure benefits both the protagonist and the growing town. One of the game's greatest strengths is the variety of activities available outside combat. Crafting allows players to forge equipment using resources collected from their travels, while merchants provide alternatives for those who prefer purchasing gear instead of making it themselves. Gathering materials, preparing food, upgrading facilities, and interacting with townspeople all become meaningful parts of daily life. The game rarely forces players into a single playstyle, encouraging them to prioritize whichever activities they enjoy most. Whether someone prefers nonstop dungeon crawling or a more relaxed pace centered around town development, the systems support both approaches equally well. The settlement itself evolves into the heart of the experience. As additional residents arrive, new buildings and services become available, gradually expanding the range of options at the player's disposal. Watching an empty area transform into a lively village gives a constant sense of accomplishment that extends beyond character levels and equipment upgrades. Every improvement reinforces the feeling that the player's actions are creating lasting change, making progression feel tangible instead of purely numerical. Visually, Home and Dungeon embraces colorful pixel art paired with anime-inspired character designs that suit its light fantasy atmosphere. The environments are inviting, and the character illustrations add personality to the cast. Although the presentation is built upon familiar RPG Maker foundations, the artistic direction remains appealing and complements the game's relaxed pacing. The soundtrack and interface also contribute to a comfortable experience, allowing players to alternate naturally between exciting dungeon expeditions and peaceful moments spent improving their settlement. The game also includes optional mature content intended for adult audiences. While these scenes are present, they do not overshadow the core experience, as the primary appeal comes from its engaging blend of action RPG mechanics, town-building, crafting, and life simulation. Players interested mainly in exploration and progression will still find a substantial amount of gameplay independent of its mature elements. Home and Dungeon succeeds by offering far more than a standard dungeon crawler. Its combination of action combat, meaningful settlement development, flexible progression systems, and heartfelt storytelling creates an experience that remains engaging over many hours. The freedom to choose how to spend time, whether battling monsters, gathering resources, crafting equipment, or expanding the village, keeps the adventure fresh and rewarding. Although its presentation may appear modest compared to larger-budget RPGs, the depth of its interconnected systems and its emphasis on building a place where everyone belongs make it an enjoyable and memorable fantasy adventure. First things first, DO NOT download the R18 patch it's broken and guaranteed to crash your game. There's some workarounds in the discussions, but your game can still randomly crash. That being said, game is solid without it. Best description I have is rune factory/fantasy life if it were in the form of RPGM, a slow life style game with some mystery dungeon mechanics you can squeeze 100 hours from easy.
