Horizon Zero Dawn is up there in my top 10 of all time. If you already own the original on PC, $10 is a no-brainer update for PS5 controller support (disable STEAM input), enhanced animations, and enhanced graphics. You CAN import your saves and achievements, but it's more fun to go back through and earn them all again! Now if only we could get Uncharted 1-3 on the PC...

So this is a decent remaster of the already excellent Horizon Zero Dawn game. I played it on a laptop with RTX 3070ti (8gb VRAM), ADM Ryzen 7 6800H and 16gb RAM at 1440p. High preset, certain settings set to medium and dynamic DLSS. Avg FPS for me was around 55 with dips to 45s (not too often but during combat and city lights). But then again, I played on a laptop, not a beefy PC. The performance was almost equivalent to the OG game when I dropped the preset to medium whilst still looking almost the same as High settings. Pros: - The graphics now look like Forbidden West, especially the facial animations - If you own the original HZD game on steam, it'll let you import your saves. I imported my previously completed game and everything was just as I left it. - This appears to be well optimised game. Almost consistent 55-60 FPS. - The facial animation now look like Forbidden West, which is top notch. - DLSS implemented very well. Cons: - Requires signing in to PSN account which was a minor nuisance at the starting of the game - Even though the game let's you transfer saves, the achievements you have in the original game DOES NOT transfer to the remaster. You'll have to earn them again. A slight bummer. Overall a really decent remaster. I'll still say it, HZD didn't really need a remaster but what we got is also not that bad. NOW PLEASE RELEASE BLOODBORNE TO PC ASAP!!!!!!

EDIT: -showlinkingqr launch option completely removes the PSN requirement I literally cannot play the game on Linux. It just complains about not having an internet connection. My internet works just fine, thank you. The PSN connection requirement is a disgrace.

I really feel like the game is nowhere near old enough to need a remaster. Like yeah it looks good but it already looked good and it's only slightly dated. I mean I love Horizon Zero Dawn and I love Forbidden West, but the PC port of HZD came in 2020. It SIMPLY doesn't need a remaster. Can we have useful remasters instead? You know, like games stuck on ps2/ps3. Why would you remastered this, but not Bloodborne or any GoW, Killzone, Resistance, Uncharted games, instead you choose a game that is perfectly fine and up to date? Come on Sony, you sit on a goldmine and you don't see it. All though I think it was a waste of resources to remaster this game, I still think they did a great job. For 10$ upgrade to the base game, it's WELL made.
