9/10 multiplayer nights with friends, but solo play is pretty fun too i'm 14 hours in but i'll play more after 1.0 release. you're a chef who "gifts" customers some... questionable stuff (game has zero filter lol), while paying off a sketchy debt and trying not to get the cops on you. it's dumb in the best way, me and my friends clip something basically every session the pizza making actually feels really good too. no janky physics or floaty object grabbing like most sim games, everything just snaps in place. there are some minor bugs of course, but nothing to worry about. i want to pay my debt asap, or that "mafia guy" says he will kick my ass so we'll see! would love more city jobs unlocking as you progress, and being able to hire workers / unlock new stations in the shop. other than that it's peak
I'm enjoying this game so far. It runs smoothly. I bought it for early access. You make pizzas which is fun in itself and in the back you do some shady business. The customization is good. From the floors to the walls. I took my time with this game, not realizing I could change my crypto to Cash. Would have saved me alot of time. The characters are funny and most notably recognizable. You have Case-Oh, Jack, Sophie. The quests definitely make sense for them. I don't have any friends, so I played it solo. It's still really fun this way. I just hope they add on to the map and provide more quirky quests. All in all, I had a really fun time.
What I thought would be a scummy shop sim, ends up being another shop simulator with a mafia skin. Complete with the same old shop level stuff, though its far less annoying than other shop sims I have played. The game's pace is fast later on, but not so much that you can't keep up, even in single player. You're tasked essentially with running two shops instead of one, the pizza shop acting as a front for the black market running in the back. Where the game kind of felt like it mislead me was I expected to be more personally acting on the crimes. Instead your tasks in the back are more acting as a cleaner or fixer for the crime, destroying evidence or providing the crime's tool through dark web auctions. A bit disappointing to be honest but once you get over that the actual game is at least decently fun in its loop The game also features a mechanic of balance, where you shouldn't/can't lean to heavily into one side of the business. Be too straight and the mafia gets on you, be too shady and the cops start actively seeking you. This is actually not a difficult mechanic to dodge as nothing overall happens so long as you don't go into the red for either side, the yellow area is quite large, you can also pay off people to reduce your heavy lean into one direction or the other as well. Overall not a bad game, I am curious if the game would get more chaotic with friends, but I did like that its manageable as a solo game as well.
The game is okay for now, it does get repetitive, there's not too many shady stuff happening in order to balance the legitimate side of things. And having to bribe people is nice but it would be better if there's both things to do in order to be able to balance a little bit more. Especially during pizza shop expansion, the 'store' front overtrumps the 'shady' front. Balancing issues maybe.
