THE GREAT I love this game! I am a grand-father nearing 60 that plays PC games and when I'm done working for the day, I want something peaceful/cozy to relax with and I found it in this game. I did not believe I'd find a game that was about cooking for others were (a) there are no timers, (b) the cooking minigames did not stress me out, and (c) guests wait quite patiently (forever) chatting in Italian amongst themselves. The game offers a recipe book that is artistically beautiful to open and review, but that also explains exactly how to construct each meal as you would expect. You can control what you offer for the cafe to sell, or you can allow an open menu. The minigames are easy but satisfying, and I don't find them annoying. Yes, please add more and more recipes in the same beautiful artistic style, I love it. I have only played the game solo so I can't comment about multi-player, but when I unwind I don't look for other people online as I don't want a commitment. On a weekend, I may look for some of my adult kids that have this game to try a round with me but I haven't so far. The music, wow! This music puts me in the mood for relaxation on the Italian Riviera and the graphics while looking out at the sea in the early morning or evening is amazing. I find myself wishing I knew Italian and some of the music I would purchase to listen to offline. Seriously, if you value music as helping to set a tone then give this game a try. Finally, I think the think I love the most is that it quite honestly does not rush you. People will wait patiently until they are served, without complaint and this makes the experience feel less rushed (though no one wants to keep guests waiting). I am a big fan of the "Tales of the Shire" but I found that having to manage relationships, the mini-games, and trying to collect ingredients before passing out at night from exhaustion was not as relaxing/cozy as this game. This game gets my highest marks! AREAS FOR IMPROVEMENT I am content with the game in it's current form but I have so many ideas for additional content I would love to see (I'm headed to Discord to join the club). Small examples include the ability to use the Winery like the Cafe and be able to host events there and serve people, cook, etc. The ability to hire a server to assist me with collecting orders, and delivering dishes. I guess it would be nice to also potentially have a cook that could make dishes while I serve them to people (but I prefer the former to the latter). I'd like to slow the passage of time as the day to night cycle seems a bit rapid for me and although guest don't complain, I feel bad when I see them waiting for a Creamy Shrimp Pasta until the next morning. I could go on, but it would feel negative and honestly the game is amazing as is, but I see a future for it as well. More quests, random PC encounters with rewards, etc. I have not managed to get 100% acheivement on many games but THIS game was one of those, and it was very satisfying, my only regret being that I feel like I've "finished" something and I don't want this to end.
The perfect game for people who want to run a café without developing a stress disorder. I absolutely LOVE this game. It has exactly the kind of cozy, relaxing gameplay I look for in a simulator. No ridiculous timers, no angry customers screaming at me because their pasta took 0.7 seconds too long, just me, my café, some delicious Italian food and the occasional glass of Prosecco. I especially love that you can play completely at your own pace. You can prepare ingredients beforehand, cook dishes when you feel like it, upgrade your restaurant, make your own wine, explore the surrounding areas, and slowly build your café into exactly what you want. And then there are the achievements. I LOVE achievements. If a game has achievements, my brain immediately goes: “Oh, we're getting 100%.” So naturally, I've been trying to unlock every single one. You have a cat... You can play with the cat, BUT YOU CAN'T PET THE CAT. Please, developers. I have built an entire café, mastered Italian cuisine, made wine and basically become the Gordon Ramsay of vacation cafés. LET ME PET THE CAT. I also think the decorating could use more options. I absolutely love being able to customize the café and my house, but give me MORE decorations. Overall, though, this is a fantastic cozy simulator. It's relaxing, fun, has plenty to do, and actually lets you enjoy the game at your own pace. Let there be more decorations. Highly recommended!
I've been looking for a game like this since I played some stupid caffee game on facebook like 15 years ago. It's cozy, its beautiful, it's fun. Please keep updating and adding content, i'd be even happy to pay for a good DLC. For me, the progress goes too fast. I want to keep playing this game for months and explore new things and get hooked by the progress, not just hours :D Oh and please add black pepper for the carbonara <3
