Why you should or should not play Idle Colony What is Idle Colony? Idle Colony is exactly how it sounds, a game where you can sit back, relax, and watch as your little workers gather the fruits of trees. Quick Pros βœ” Satisfying progression system βœ” Relaxing game play βœ” Runs well on lower-end PCs βœ” Strong visual style Quick Cons ✘ Repetitive game play loop ✘ Mechanics become stale over time Initial Thoughts: -"I like my little dudes. They are so smol." -"Oooo bashing the moles is so satisfying." -"I can sacrifice them.... ooooooooooooo this is great." Beginner Player Friendly? I would say this game is beginner player friendly. The controls are very simple and this game is a point and click style game. There is also a tutorial that helps explain the basics of the game. Once you get through that tutorial there isn't much that is hard to understand. Game Play: The goal of this game is simple, you are farming fruits with your small colony. Cook these fruits to make money so you can upgrade, sacrifice and upgrade some more to make even more money. Graphics: The graphics are super simple and friendly on the eyes. I would say this game would be able to run on a lower end computer with no issues. Community: I have not interacted much with the community themselves, the way I found this game is by Gray Still Plays playing it on their YouTube channel. I have seen quite a few guides on how to play, and everyone seems super open to answering questions if need be. How long can you play? In this game its easy to play for hours with no stopping. I have already spent 4 hours in the game and have yet to complete it. My Opinion: In my opinion, if you just want something where you can turn your brain off and not think while maybe watching a bit of YouTube you may want to try out this game. I really enjoy playing this while watching mindless body-cam footage. Overall Review β˜… 7/10 - An enjoyable fruit farming idle game. ✘ Active Online Multiplayer (meaning people will interact with you in game) βœ” Family Friendly (meaning friendly to all ages) βœ” Solo Playability (meaning you can play by yourself if preferred) ✘ Cross Compatibility (meaning you can play with friends through other consoles.) ✘ In-App Purchases (meaning you can buy things after buying the game i.e DLC's) ✘ Controller Compatible (meaning you can play this game with a controller) Enjoyed this review? It's a reletively nice short experience. I chose to get all the achievements to see how long it would take to do so, it's the main reason why I had more hours than I have actually playing it. Though, it was cool to experiment with the different methods (e.g. using throwmerge, prizm, cannon, etc.) fruity ahh game

I'm quite neutral. I was very hesitant on buying this game. It's not a BAD game, but these idlers that pull you in just to somewhat disappoint you in the end are getting quite annoying. Idle Colony pulls you in like Gnorp with its mechanics of stuff flying everywhere that makes your brain feel good, like a number going up, and that all stops when you beat the game in under 8 hours and the rest of your time will be achievement farming. I was hoping for more time spent in the game before reaching the end. Pros [*] Satisfying to watch. [*] Doing a Prestige (Lunar) reset doesn't take long to reach where you were at. [*] Achievement farming game. [*] After beating the game there's still a bit more content left. Cons [*] Game is pretty buggy as you progress. Memory leak when you have a lot of stuff going on and I have 75 farmers, 40+ of which aren't doing anything. You're forced to restart the game every hour or so. [*] Only able to set 3 upgrades to auto-buy instead of all upgrades. [*] Always micro-managing since auto-buy is limited. [*] Can beat the game in/under 8 hours. [*] UI can be very annoying. [*] Settings for "1x 5x Max." doesn't save. Idle Colony is strictly a flashy achievement farm game. It's one of those typical idlers that look VERY good and it ends up not lasting long at all. I'll give it a thumbs up seeing I'll be farming the rest of the achievements and spend more time in the game, but I really wish Steam had an in-between option.
