Before anything else, I have to state that I have zero love for Ubisoft. None. Still, even a broken clock can be right twice a day! This is one of those times. Immortals: Fenyx Rising is a quality game with decent humor, beautiful & colorful visuals and enjoyable (if not particularly deep or original) combat mechanics and a array puzzles ranging from good to mediocre. It's a game where you'll stop every so often to just look around and appreciate how lush and pretty everything is. I cannot rightly compare it to Breath of the Wild, as I have not played that game. It's obviously "inspired" by BotW. Unlikely that it's better on any level ... but It's NOT a cheap knock-off. It's a COMPETENT knock-off with personality of its own. I can respect that! Definitely wait for a good sale. Good as it may be it's not worth $40 for base game plus all the DLC nickel and diming b.s. - and for a game that came out 4 years ago now (an eternity in gaming). If you keep an eye out though, the whole package goes on discount every so often. I grabbed the whole set for about $20, and that feels like the right pricing for this game in 2026.

This Review will cover the base game only I 100% a Ubisoft game, that explains a lot. Ubisoft games are famous for being tedious and filler packed. This review will cover Good, Bad, and Ugly, with hopefully minimum spoilers. Let;s start with the Good: The Story is decent enough, The world is a nice size also, not to big or small. It has collectabiles most of them are puzzles, and I found all of them quite enjoyable and fun to do. For a Ubisoft game it has a surprisingly right amount of stuff to do, nothing to overboard, each puzzle felt fresh, it did not feel like filler or an excuse to keep the game longer. The World is quite nice also with the stylised art. Now for the bad: Controls are clunky at times, I played with a controller, sometimes the input feels off. The Ugly: I find the voice acting to be horrible, one of the worst I have heard in any game. Your player Character grunts a lot also when fighting, found it very annoying to deal with, can't turn it off because it's tied to voice volume. Some parts of the dialogue are just cringe. The game throughout tries to be humorous and funny, while it has it's silly and even memorable moments, most of the humour is a hit and miss. Overall the game, and gameplay loop is soild, it's a Ubisoft game done right (for once) Just enough content, and stuff to do without being to much. I found the game to be more focused on puzzles, than it's RPG content. Which personally to me is fine, the puzzles were engaging till the end.

This one completely caught me off guard. I expected yet another Ubisoft map-checking simulator... you know, climb towers, clear icons, rinse and repeat. But instead I got one of the most creative and entertaining adventures they’ve made in years. Didn’t see that coming. The combat is fun - not too hard, not too easy - with plenty of abilities and enemy variety to keep it dynamic. Bosses are on the easy side, but still satisfying enough to make you feel like you’ve accomplished something. Where the game truly shines, though, is in its puzzles and exploration. Each one actually feels handcrafted (crazy, right?), mixing logic, physics, and curiosity in a way that never gets dull. The Tartarus vaults in particular are brilliant. Graphically, it’s not a technical powerhouse, but the cartoon art style works surprisingly well. It's colorful, full of personality, and refreshingly un-Ubisoft-like. Performance is excellent overall, aside from the occasional hiccup courtesy of their beloved launcher. The soundtrack is great, with a few standout tracks, and the lighthearted tone of the story gives it real charm. It doesn’t take itself too seriously, which is probably why it succeeds where so many of their “epic” games don’t. It’s been a long time since I’ve had this much fun with a Ubisoft game. Highly recommended.

As a lone survivor, you wash up on the Golden Isle after a shipwreck. The land is cursed. The Titan Typhon made sure everyone turned to stone. As a simple soldier of the Delian League, you never expected to be a hero. But with the gods weakened and their powers lost, you take on the task to save them, defeat Typhon, and break the curse. Immortals Fenyx Rising is a beautiful game. It’s 10% exploration, 45% puzzles, and 45% combat — all packed into a charming and very funny story, told by Prometheus and Zeus while you play. The two constantly comment on your adventure with humor and sarcasm, making the game feel like a myth being told aloud. While the plot is simple, it’s delivered with heart, jokes, and light drama. Characters are fun and likable, with gods like Hermes, Aphrodite, Ares, and Hephaestus adding personality and lots of humor. Puzzles in Immortals Fenyx Rising are primarily found in Vaults of Tartaros and scattered across the open world. Early puzzles focus on basic mechanics like pressure plates and timed switches, but they evolve to combine physics, logic, and newly acquired abilities. Although I am not a big fan of puzzles, I enjoyed most of them far more than expected. Puzzle design is very smart, and it’s astonishing how many different types of puzzles the developers came up with using so few mechanics. At the beginning of the game, combat is a little difficult and slow. It takes a couple of hours to collect new weapons, gear, and godly blessings, adding special moves and abilities, to turn combat into a fast, fluid, and fun experience. Fighting feels responsive and becomes more exciting as you unlock new abilities. Smooth combos with sword, axe, and bow, as well as parry and dodge mechanics, turn combat into a lot of fun. When I first heard of Immortals Fenyx Rising and watched the trailer, I thought this game was for kids. Boy was I wrong. Immortals Fenyx Rising is no child’s game, although kids might enjoy it too. For some reason, this game is highly underrated. In my opinion, this is one of the best Ubisoft games I’ve played, and I’ve played most of them. Perhaps the game's many puzzles put people off. But even someone like me, who doesn’t particularly like puzzles, enjoyed the puzzles in this game for the most part. It’s a lot of fun. I highly recommend this game. Pros - Beautiful graphics - Vibrant, colorful art style - Engaging, lighthearted story - Great humor - Perfect voice acting from all characters - Lots of fun to fly - Very satisfying combat - Very smart puzzle design - Rewarding exploration - Diverse, open-world environments (night and day cycles in different climate zones) - You can swim (and dive) - Addictive - Great soundtrack - Charming character animations Cons - Limited enemy variety - Pretty odd title for a game

What a truly incredible, underappreciated hidden gem! Fantastic Assassins's Creed like game taking place in the beloved mythological Greek setting MY PERSONAL SCORE: 9/10 + The game looks and feels stunning and it runs beautifully smooth + Incredible setting with beautiful art direction and level design + Vast open world + Insane amount of content and challenges + Great combat + Humorous storytelling and overall funny characters + Great inventory and weapon design. A lot to unlock and to buy via shop In a nutshell, one could say it is a comical or Anime version of Assassins's Creed Odyssey. This game could be easily be a 10/10, if it weren't for these factors: - The amount of puzzles is overwhelming - The frustration can grow immensely - A few pointers and some cues on how to get a certain puzzles going is missing - I stop counting on how often I had to look up for a guide on Youtube because I had zero clue where to start or what to do on some quests and puzzles. Unsurprisingly, I found a lot people in the comments section struggling as well. - Sometimes it is a pain to reach some locations located at very high vintage points and you'll spend a lot time CLIMBING like a mountain climber In my personal view, it may have been the overwhelming puzzles that prevented the game to be more popular and bigger. However, don't let that deter you in any way. This game has a ridiculous amount of content. Almost no to minimal glitches and bugs. It is afterall, a quality game with very challenging puzzles. If you're an AC fan like me, give it a try. You will love and hate it at same time. I'm very grateful that I found this wonderful game. MUST TRY!
