A very atmospheric game. Even though there is no enemies or ways to die, I was on edge though a lot of the levels. Recommend if you just want a creepy, liminal experience without worrying about being chased.

This is such an amazing exploration game where you make your way through some grounded yet very """liminal""" locations, taking photographs of particular points of interests and finding keys to advance. There are a handful of secrets and light puzzles but it's only a small step above being a walking simulator. It's also not a "horror game" ( or is it? ), even though it's VERY creepy at times. The camera/photography mechanics are surprisingly well done too and I had a ton of fun taking pictures of the scenery. It kind of reminds me a bit of POOLS and Broken Reality, two of my other favorites in this "vibe-y wander around game" genre. This just oozes atmosphere and scratches the rare itch of urban exploration along with the liminal BS that I've come to love. Some levels are a little weak and overall it's unfortunately a little short (probably 2hrs) unless you take it slow or are trying to 100% it, but it's so good.

Went into this game slightly skeptical, skeptical in the sense that I was fairly certain I'd probably play a bit of it, fall off, and forget about it. Not skeptical in the sense that the game is bad, but skeptical in the sense that I doubt I could fully enjoy it. Regardless it was an interesting concept, and I'm more then willing to throw money at that. I was Very wrong. I like this game A Lot. Interior Worlds is a horror adjacent game where you wander through liminal spaces, and take pictures. Certain key areas need to be photographed to continue, but frankly the environments are well designed and interesting enough that I found myself taking "extracurricular" pictures for the fun of it. The photography is well designed (you have a zoom and focus option, along with a flash toggle notably), at least as far as someone that took a single photography class in high school and then fell off the hobby, can tell. Some additional objectives include finding secrets, which in turn sequentially unlock other secrets in the stage. So you might have to backtrack to find the first one and then go through the level again with a fine tooth comb. More typical collectibles also exist, filters, and VHS-es (which can be played, but as far as I've gotten it's the same video every time). The developer is very good at hiding things in plain sight so be sure to poke around a lot, if you're shooting for a full collection. Horror elements are ambient, though there's some light "things moving when you don't expect them to move" scares, among some other stuff, and largely they do a great job of adding just a pinch of friction to the exploration along with adding some texture to the game world, they're very well executed, I couldn't imagine the game without them. Though to get back to the original point, as someone that is not terribly vulnerable to horror game business, it got me a couple of times, but never in a way that made me "uncomfortable" so to say. Though I am only 3 levels in! Ultimately, very pleasantly surprised. I was expecting to jump in, sort've ogle the novel concept for a bit, then wander off, but I've been playing it before bed for a few days now and it's even been overtaking some other releases I was looking forward to this week! Very nice. Recommended if you're into the ambient horror thing, or the liminal space thing. It's kind've got an urbex vibe to it too, if that's up your alley. As a photography sim... I could see it working, though it's got a very horror themed tone to it so maybe that's not what you're looking for, YMMV.

People say sometimes that they feel like a game was made for them. well, it feels like this entire Developer was made for me. Sodaraptor's games Capture a very specific feeling from my childhood that faded into adulthood, the Mystery of the world and what lay in the shadows. Ps1 games of the time had an aura about them, a Comforting Void that called to me, Back when this was my only connection to the world, I thought things were like this, But fiction is often More Exciting than Reality. these games feel like a return to the Hypothetical world I still think about. Interior Worlds is one of My favorite games, I look forward to getting more into your other games. if you're reading this Sodaraptor, I hope you never stop. Thank you.
