It's weird to even call Jusant a game. It's an interactive short story. It reminds you that this medium can be used for art.

Loved this game! It was an indie breakout for me when I played it. A solid 8 out of 10. However, this game requires patience. There are no other interactions with people. You are on your own and you learn about the story through notes and stories of those who came before you. The climbing mechanics are great. This is a "cozy" game but it may be a bit too cozy for some. There is a lot of discovery aspects in this game and it works. I enjoyed uncovering the mysteries and wonder as I ascended to the top of the mountain. There's nothing to fight, if you will, but there are challenges and trials to overcome to continue your ascent. Great game, may be a bit slow for some but other than that it's a solid game! Great job, Devs!

Jusant is a very good and atmospheric climbing game with significant gameplay and environment variety. + Left and right trigger hand-grab climbing mechanic + Fair stamina system + Good atmosphere, rich environment * Playthrough 4.5 hours (2/3 of it I deliberately explored around the main path) * Linear progression path (no autonomous route decisions or alternatives) * Regular side-routes to explore (environment, environmental and inhabitant history, letters, artifacts; collect-achievements) - Occasional environment/movement glitches (you can get stuck) - Occasionally hard to find the path to progress At times I got stuck. Once, I was hanging on my rope without being able to climb up nor down to a recoverable state. Once, I got stuck in a close-to-wall walk, I assume because of the camera angle and control mechanism. Once or twice, I got stuck on geometry. Occasionally, I got semi-stuck on geometry but could recover. Getting stuck on geometry only happened while walking, never while climbing. Regularly, especially the first half of the game, I got stuck not seeing where to progress. After closing the game, the next time I played, I was always able to find my way through and was able to progress. The path to progression is not always obvious or consistent. Some require specific interactions, not obviously placed or visualized, and others specific invisible position triggers which are not inherently or specifically obvious.

A warm and beautiful game! I played it during a rough time - lost my job, got sick… and somehow Jusant lit up that period of my life. Everything comes together here: gameplay, story, symbolism, and visuals. Without saying a word, the game speaks volumes - gently, but clearly. As a 3D artist, I dream of working on a project like this one day. Thank you for the journey.
