Devil Daggers but in Australia instead of Hell... So it's still in Hell I'm sure that comparison gets made all the time, but I find myself enjoying this "flavor" of high-score fps more. Killbug is definitely more inviting and newbie-friendly for a number of reasons. The controls are simple. There are only 3 hidden mechanics that naturally get discovered quickly during gameplay; while Devil Daggers (and Hyper Demon to a further extent) have more hidden mechanics that feel less intuitive. Part of that comes from Devil Dagger's mechanics are progression based; and due to the high-stress nature of these type of games, you don't get to freely experiment without risking a loss / waste of resources. You also have a health bar here with a rewarding recovery loop that is the core of the gameplay. That said, this games begs for more variety. I'm mainly wanting more map layouts. I feel Devil Daggers gets away with the single map because it's a emphasizes pure shooting skill / gamesense. Here with the small, complex, tall map, it emphasizes movement and map knowledge. So relying on the single map is a little more tiring. I'd also love to see alt weapons. I understand this is such a common desire, and that the weapon here is fine-tuned for the gameplay here; but man, I would LOVE a 1 or 2 shot shotgun alt with limited reserve ammo. I think that hyper focus on close combat would mesh well with the movement and risk-reward systems in Killbug. I would happily buy those 2 as DLC! Other than that. the lack of a crouch / slide really throws me off some, but you can get used to that. All in all, it's a smooth 8/10 arena shooter. Great for killing 10 - 30 minutes, or to grind for hours at a time. (sorry for bringing up Devil Daggers so often; it's just that they share so much in common. But I genuinely think I enjoy Killbug more if that wasn't clear)

This game is WAY too good for how cheap it is. Insanely fun gameplay, unique enemies, and just straight addicting. If you have $7 to spare, BUY THIS GAME!

Honestly, pretty fun game, nice, fluid, controls, good gun-play, and just all around good mechanically. But for one arena? For 6 bucks USD? Even on sale it's a bit much. These guys better paying rent, or buying groceries with the money, because this is worth $3 max. Great game, overpriced. Would give a middle rating if I could.
