It’s cute, cosy, and surprisingly soothing. Kind Words 2 is for people who enjoy holding others up, and getting to be the softness they wish the world had more of. And if you’re ever feeling low, just imagine the things Steve Irwin would say if you were a little lizard he found sunbathing on a rock. You’re doing great, mate, look at this beauty.

I really love this game. I love almost everything about it and I look forward to watching it grow and evolve. Though I do agree with what several others are saying; you should be able to have pen pals. I have a LOT of ideas for how the game could be improved while keeping its foundation in tact. For the devs: - The "go outside" option is a great idea but most of the destinations as of right now don't really serve much of a purpose. I don't feel excited or interested in visiting them and that's a shame considering how much potential there is in the concept of leaving your little room to explore the world of Kind Words 2. - Why not add a beach destination where you can send out letters in a bottle and also find them washed up on the beach? And what if there was a drink stall where you could stand and drink your little drink while talking to someone else who's standing and drinking their little drink? - !!!! (I feel like it would be much more efficient to make conversations function the way online chatroom games like Gaia do, where chat bubbles pop up above the avatar's head. If both players aren't online at the same time then they should be pen pals). - Maybe there's a post office where you physically leave your room to mail out letters to PEN PALS. And really, why are pen pals not already a thing? Giant missed opportunity. I think a lot of the community would agree. And it would be cute to leave the room and check a mailbox for pen pal replies. - And since we're adding world exploration to the series, why not implement pets and give us a park destination for both walking the pets AND mingling with other online players? - What if some of the current game functions weren't given separate destinations? Making recommendations, giving helpful tips, why not be separate topics on a discussion board that you access through a laptop that your avatar has on their desk? You click on the laptop, they open it up, it zooms in to forum-like website. This way it's better organized, easier and faster to locate and doesn't take up any destination spots that you can use for different ideas. This is not even close to all of my ideas. But that's enough for now. My hope is that this dev team really listens to its community. A lot of these ideas would make the game a thousand times more fun and engaging, and would hold my interest for a lot longer than the game does in its current state of development.

Been a huge fan of this game since Kind Words 1. It began as a simple venting platform where you can vent anonymously and get short snippets of support from anonymous strangers as well. - You'd think that would be a disaster, but in all my time of playing the game and frequenting the community, I haven't come across one bad actor, just kind, empathetic people with various approaches to comforting you. Kind Words 2 is the same thing, but adds various other ways to express yourself when you're feeling lonely and want to feel recognized/appreciated. You can ask and share general advice, write or ask for poetry, ask or share game/show/movie/book recommendations, answer daily questions from the devs, and more. And the more you interact, the more stickers you earn to add to your collection that you can also send to other people! Just a really feel-good game. It's been one of my most reliable tools for whenever I'm in a spiraling mood, both before, during and after professional help. It by no means replaces it, but It's a good additional supplement I'd say!

I have both Kind Words and Kind Words 2. I think this game should be a contender for game of the year (especially this year, oof. We could all use some extra kindness!), but sadly, more Triple-Eh looking/feeling titles will probably hold it. It's a very simple premise, but expanded on past the first to have it feel like a true sequel rather then just a content update. It's nice to be able to feel that you're helping, in some small simple way. And yeah, it might not be much to some people, it might not change the world, or cause any big strides but... There's a quote from somewhere online that goes something like "People always talk about the butterfly effect, and how small changes in the past can lead to big changes today. Why not apply that to today's changes?" Small things matter. Kindness matters. And while I might never clock in as many hours in this game as others, it'll be always an important one.

On the surface, Kind Words 2 feels like a gamified anonymous social media. Its collection of spaces that you move within and its stickers fulfill the game function, and the chat is just that - mini messages sent out across the web waves. You never know who you're writing to, and those writing to you don't know you, either. While some might rightfully wonder "how much good can you actually do?" with those anonymous, short messages, those constrained poems, and those scraps of recommendations? A lot, actually. Just like Kind Words, Kind Words 2's community has been overwhelmingly kind, clever, conscientious, and creative. The fact that all these things are given in small bites is of no consequence. Every letter, every poem, every recommendation has been a soothing salve to me. So, too, has sending them to others been to me. Kind Words 2, like its predecessor, has taught me that no kind word, no good deed, no matter how small, is really lost or worthless. Even if the kindness misses the mark, it went out into a world that needs it. It matters. It all matters. I cherish this community and the ways it has slowly by surely made me calmer and more hopeful. Thank you.
