I played the demo for less than 10 minutes before knowing that I was purchasing this game. Great deal for the price - there is a lot to the game, with room for free play as well if you don't feel like following the story or finish it. Love the detail and information on the plants, the variety of plants, and the limit to how many you can place at a time in story mode (as in, you have to place the ones you have before getting like.. 10 more) Devs should have spent more time focusing on things such as placement of pieces, overlapping items, picking things up with both R and L MB but also using those buttons to navigate (so... unintentionally reorganizing when you're just trying to move), etc. Plants will say they have light and then randomly don't have light anymore, other small bugs. However, this really doesn't impact the game play *too* much. Overall, definitely recommend if you enjoy a cozy plant game with a slight puzzley twist.
Since I finished the game with all achievements, I wanted to write a proper review. I bought it for almost 6 bucks on sale, and honestly… it was really short. Even with the Brother’s Wedding Story DLC, I was done in about three hours, and that’s with me taking my sweet time. I wouldn’t recommend buying it for more than that price, and even on sale I wouldn’t tell anyone to rush and grab it. On the positive side: the achievements are easy to get, which I actually appreciated. I hate when cosy games like this expect you to dedicate your entire life and grind. This one felt relaxed and manageable. My biggest issue is the length of the story. The story is the most interesting part, and it’s barely there. You get the gist of it, but that’s it. I genuinely wish they had expanded it. Add more dialogue, more depth, more character moments. If people want to skip, just make it “hold ESC to skip” or something. I’m begging. This could have been such a good visual novel with the flower levels in between. The gameplay itself is also over very quickly. Like I said, I absolutely took my time with everything, and I was still done before I knew it. There were also some issues. The range for both light and water were pretty inaccurate to the visualised outline. And, if you make a boarder to signal range, make it right. I often had to drag them around for a while to get them close enough to a plant that needed them, but without accidentally affecting other plants that didn’t. The other thing, which I also saw some other people complain about was the fact that you could soft-lock some chapter tasks by doing them before the task was shown at the top. Sometimes when I did the task, it automatically ticked off, sometimes it didn't. I found that picking up a task related item and placing it back down marked the task as done. For example, in the chapter where you had to throw a bunch of boxes away, when the task came I already did that, but fixed it by picking up the bin and placing it back down. There was no point were I was actually stuck. Overall, it’s not a bad game by any means! It’s cute, cosy, and visually stunning. I just wish there had been more story.

Lamps, humidifiers, and environmental accessories help shape ideal conditions, making each room feel like a living ecosystem rather than a static stage. While the challenge is light, the feeling of watching a once-empty room take on vibrancy and character gives the game its charm. Ayta’s story intersperses the decorating gameplay with moments of reflection about family, friendships, career changes, and personal identity. These scenes are brief, but they add emotional context to the spaces you build, anchoring each room in a particular chapter of her life. Her movements from one place to another—student dorms, cramped apartments, more mature urban homes—mirror the shifts in tone and challenge. While the narrative doesn’t explore its themes in great depth, it softens the experience and connects the player more intimately with the environments they create, turning decoration into an expression of emotional healing and personal growth. Visually, Urban Jungle embraces a calm and cozy aesthetic. Its isometric rooms are rendered with warm lighting and gentle color palettes, evoking a sense of peace and domestic comfort. There are also moments when the scoring system encourages over-decorating, pushing players to cram a small space full of plants in ways that can feel visually cluttered and slightly counter to the cozy realism the game otherwise strives for. These design boundaries do not ruin the experience but gently remind the player that this is a guided puzzle rather than an open-ended sandbox. Despite these shortcomings, Urban Jungle succeeds at offering a comforting, creative escape. It provides a slow, thoughtful rhythm that encourages players to savor small acts of arrangement and care. Its rooms feel like safe havens, and its story—though understated—adds a human warmth that ties the decorating process to something more personal. For players who enjoy cozy games, interior-design sims, or relaxing, plant-themed puzzles, Urban Jungle offers a tranquil and satisfying experience. It may not have the complexity or variety to hold the attention of every player long term, but as a gentle journey through life, growth, and greenery, it delivers exactly the kind of calm it promises. A sweet, cozy game that follows a young woman living the millennial nightmare, pressured into a job by a pushy parent because it pays the bills, all the while daydreaming about doing what she actually wants to do: open a houseplant shop. Told primarily through phone calls and snippets of conversations during and between levels, it tells a pleasant enough story while never quite dipping into anything too serious or deep. Each level gives us a small area - a bedroom, a first apartment, a coffee shop, etc - which we must fill up with plants. Plants have 3 primary needs to fulfil: light, humidity, and having other compatible plants nearby, which when met score points. Optional goals appear in each level such as unpacking boxes or petting your cat, which earn you cash to buy more elaborate plants. Everything's kept quite simple - it reminds me of another indie game, Unpacking, but Urban Jungle does have a small problem which is that it's impossible to keep things neat and also score points - maybe that's a commentary on the joy of untidiness when it comes to nature, or maybe it's just the way my brain is wired.
