Lots of respect for not just shutting down the game just to be lost to time, or selling it to some other shady company that makes it even more p2w. instead they re-released it as a singleplayer game without microtransactions. the game is fun, at least early on theres a lot of cool cutscenes and the gameplay loop is enjoyable. i remember quitting around floor 20 many years ago so ill have to keep playing to see if i'll still enjoy it once i get that far again. the aesthetics and music of the game are also fantastic, and i like how u can level up and become stronger by using each weapon type they rebalanced a ton of features to make it more enjoyable as a singleplayer game, such as removing the time based research and development and shop purchases, everything is now instant. there is still a monthly pass, storage upgrade, and revive system, but all cost ingame currency now rather than the completely removed dead metals. R&D costs were reduced as well. all in all a excellent re-release
OMG! Never ever did I think I would see this game here in Japan on Steam! I first saw my favorite streamer (ManVsGame) playing this back when it first came out. I remember thinking, "What game is this!? Those frogs sound funny!" I did have it on my PS4 but stopped playing PS4 over 6 years ago. This version is fantastic as its now less grindy and offline key means its saved!!! It is 100% worth getting! Lots of fun! Awesome characters! I am so happy to be able to play it again!
Played it day one on PS4 and enjoyed it but never went hard due to how grindy and money hungry it was. There were bones of a good game in there but when it was out originally there were too many time gates. Now that those are gone it's a lot better but still iffy in some areas but a lot more playable to the average person overall. I recommend you grab a guide for getting materiel and to grab the Quality of Death and Let It Revive mods that rebalance the game to be more single player friendly as well as adding back in the crossover content and event quests. Honestly you should buy it just to support and push more game devs to release offline versions of their online games when they hit EoS.
As someone who pumped HOURS into the game on ps4 for the first 2 years of launch and to pick it up as it's now pay to keep The game is perfect for loser chuds like me that like to infinitely grind a game, theres always something to do on the tower and without paywalls the game feels complete after ALMOST 10 years. (Release December 2016) I can't compare the things they brought to the game now after the offline patch but I am enjoying what I'm playing. 7/10
