This is a incredible game about identity and finding answers to life. I had a hunch to play this game when I was feeling melancholic and what this game brought to the table was more than I expected. It came to me as first unnerving, if not uncomfortable (I cannot tell if it was because I understood what I was reading or didn't agree with what I was reading) but it quickly became to me something that deeply resonated with me and deeply imprinted itself in my being. The game provokes thoughts regarding life, decisions, yourself and even the questions itself that bring you to your conclusions and mainly whether or not these questions will lead you to dooming yourself or living life, still. I loved everything in this game, a lot. There are two endings and I don't want to talk about the bad one... regardless, it's a game filled with dormant hope, make sure to wake it up. The game is unfortunately too short, reasonable given the price, hardly 10 minutes of reading, but the complexity and deep meaning ingrained into it makes up for it. A lot in this game is really up to interpretation, which is really nice since it helps to bring yourself closeer to pretty deep things, but that's hardly bad at all. Please, don't miss out on this game, it's genuinely a work of art that transmits so much into this short little game with our small little Umi, here on Earth, asking why she's asking why (don't be mean to her).
More of a neutral review for me. The game, for better and for worse, feels like a prologue. A snippet of what's to come, rather than a short story. It has a beginning and an ending, but no conclusion. It's weird, it feels like the little girl gave up on asking why she asking why when you play the game. I want to see where the developers go from here. Elicits very neutral feelings.
