genuinely don't know how i feel about it and if i should leave it a good or bad review. visuals are very good and music is too, but the mechanical part of the game is oh my god bruh it pissed me off so much. when you get to talk to her during the night they often put you in position, where you have 3 different answer options, so basically what that means is that you need to read what she says and then read all answer options, think about what you should choose, and select the most fitting one. and all that during a time span of 2 seconds before she kills you for not answering her. everything else is pretty much illusion of choice, because during the playthrough game introduces you to 10 other characters, of which 7 are scripted to get killed no matter what and only 2 specific characters from remaining 3 are present during game's endings, so like bruh. endings got me disappointed as well, game has 3 endings in total and one of them is just reuse of assets from another ending with two small changes made to it. keeping it at good review because idk other no-lifers like me will surely love this game

when i first heard about this game, i avoided it entirely thinking it was just a fetish game, god, i couldn't be more wrong and i'm glad. (it's still the author's not even disguised fetish, i can't deny that. it's more like horror first as the main course, then the fetish if that's your thing as the dessert.) it's a well made, genuinely unnerving psychological horror vn that i personally think is up there with the likes of ddlc, miside, irisu syndrome, and needy girl overdose. only took me about 4.5 hours to get every achievement and ending, but i had a blast. the spritework is gorgeous, the clashing art styles work in the games favour, and that soundtrack slaps. highly recommend this game, especially going in blind. if you view the usually fetishistic content as sadistic, psychopathic behaviour from saeko, instead of fetish for the sake of fetish, it's a good time. there are however, some downsides to the game, but considering the price of the game, don't bump it down too much for me. the illusion of choice is the biggest thing against this game. your actions don't matter until the very last day of the game. whoever you decide to kill off doesn't matter at all. only on the last day do your actions matter for whichever ending you're after. this game is very linear and even repetitive, there are no branching paths, 2/3 of the endings are very similar to each other. i wish they did more with clara, and really, any of the other characters. some characters like chio, clara, and kina are fun, i really enjoyed them, but everyone feels a little half baked. saeko herself i feel having the most depth to her character, but there's still more to be desired. if you play the demo, the rest of the game is basically that, but with different characters for each day. call it a skill issue, but i swear the mall section is more difficult than it has any right to be. the response timing feels more strict, and there's less leeway to screw up. on normal night sections, i've had saeko give me the "disapproving nagging mom face" as i call it a few times, and not die. but on the mall section specifically, i swear if you mess up more than once, it's death. hope you enjoy fast forwarding through all that dialogue again, especially on repeat playthroughs for other endings or going for all the achievements. but despite all of the big issues with the game, i still say it's worth checking out. its short length means you aren't wasting much time if you don't like it. it left a pretty big mark for me, i love it a lot, but it ain't for everyone. i do respect how the devs are actually re-adding scrapped content through a free update, which will hopefully make the game at least a little longer. this game's horror isn't so much "in your face jumpscares and constantly trying to scare you" kind of horror, it's more "unnerving, and subtle to make you feel uneasy" kind, which works in its favour. it's a one of a kind unique game more than worth experiencing at least once, blindly. saeko is one of my favourite villains in a vn i've read or horror game i've played in some time. if you're still on the fence about being plunged into saeko's drawer, wait for a sale, or try the demo. don't spoil yourself on youtube. TL;DR: not a fetish game, spritework/ost good, good unnerving horror vn worth experiencing at least once, held back by being too linear and dangling keys in your face with the illusion of choice and half baked characters. get on sale if you're unsure if you'll like it. EDIT: prototype update was peak. started off a little bad, but the ending was really good. i had fun with it, a good send off to this game as now the dev has moved onto other projects. it's not very long, but a fun prologue nonetheless. saeko playing the piano with akari on violin was amazing. goofy how she stole and shrank an entire building tho. EDIT 2: so turns out, they addressed one of the issues in the artbook of all things that's exclusive to the japanese switch physical deluxe edition. the art book actually goes into detail about each of the victims, way more than the game does. it shows every character's first and last names, age, height, and a bit about their lives before saeko. it's not a lot, but more than what the game gives you about literally anyone that isn't saeko.

If you're on the fence, ignore the title. This is a horror visual novel with good writing and several endings. Sexual topics come up, but this isn't porn.

Overall, I enjoyed the game quite a bit — though I should probably warn people right away that it's only a dating sim in the loosest sense, no matter how much some players might wish otherwise. Instead, it's an interesting horror game with a fresh premise that explores abuse of power, dehumanization, and emotional manipulation. It does what horror often does best: create an extreme situation that allows us to examine human psychology under pressure. On top of that, it adds a healthy dose of nihilism. The game is deeply unsettling and highly effective in the way it presents its central situation. The game operates on two levels. During the day, you spend time with the other tiny humans living in Saeko's drawer. They aren't particularly complex characters, but each of them has at least one memorable trait. You help them, talk to them, and reward them in your role as their overseer. There are some choices to make, and later decisions can affect the ending, but I would have liked to see much more done with this aspect. I found the endings rather weak, as none of them felt especially consistent with the events leading up to them or with Saeko's characterization. They also come across as fairly clichéd horror endings. In the evenings and at night, you spend time talking with Saeko. Here, you have to be careful not to get on her nerves. The game is surprisingly effective at conveying through gameplay just how completely at the mercy of her moods you are. There's also a fairly entertaining minigame during these sections. Saeko herself is a very fitting central character for the story. She's intimidating, holds absolute power, and cannot be meaningfully opposed. She's not a charming psychopath in the vein of Bateman; instead, she's cold and detached. Personally, I never felt any attraction toward her — she's simply far too horrifying for that. Then again, I've seen plenty of people who thought she was hot and believed they could fix her, so who am I to judge?
