This game is a hidden gem. Fun, cute, polished. Great art style. Good combat with a simple twist. Really fun little rng game. And for the price on sale it's 110% worth it. Great on steamdeck too.

The game has a cute, playful charm where the colour palette, character design and overall vibe made it easy to jump in without expecting anything. It feels like a roguelite made for fun, experimentation, and some light challenge. Unfortunately, its not perfect. As I kept playing, I noticed that the variety among Lilliputs felt limited where many behave similarly and once you find the 'good' ones, there isn’t a strong reason to experiment with weaker characters. Also, after a few runs, the dungeons begin to feel a bit repetitive. Difficulty to 100% - (3/5) It is somewhat challenging to perfect this as most of the run would be based on the RNG of items. The late game modes makes the enemies tougher and every mistake you make will quickly end your 'perfect' run. But there are definitely some characters which make this much easier and enjoyable!

This game ended up being a lot better than I thought it was going to be. Apparently it's a spinoff side story of one of Cygames' gacha games. The game's gameplay loop is similar to other rogue-lites. You find critters called Liliputs in the dungeon which you can slot into your attack string similar to God Hand's create a combo. They have different elements and properties such as pulling enemies towards you or knocking them away or launching them. It allows a lot of flexibility in how you want to do combat. There are selectable upgrades and powerups during a run that power up specific elements or playstyles. Focusing on one element is definitely the most consistent way to make a good build, but mixing and matching them is probably also viable with proper tinkering. There is also a aimable homing attack that locks onto the nearest enemy in the direction you aim at. This allows you to extend combos for some very satisfying and simple combat. All the items you collect during a run is removed after a run and converted into points which are spent on meta progression or funding the next run. The story is pretty lackluster and reads like a small side story in any of those gacha games. You crash land your airship near some ruins, meet an old alchemist who is trying to use the power of the ruins for evil purposes and you are going in to stop him with an amnesiac mascot character who seems to have ties to the ruins. The music and graphics in the game are really nice and cute. Overall the game has solid presentation. Pros: -Gameplay allows for a lot of build experimentation and planning on the fly -The rogue-lite aspect is nothing new, but the sidescrolling platforming and combat feels different enough to most games that try to copy the Hades format. -Since your combo string can be customized on the fly as well as your special moves, every run can feel very different. The items also can greatly influence how you choose to play the run. Cons: -Story is extremely weak and feels like a side story you do for a few gacha premium currency -Invincible dodge is locked behind a random drop, otherwise you have to break some bad habits expecting the dodge to go through enemy attacks. You'll have to jump and double jump until unlock and find the item during a run. -There is definitely a bit of balancing issues in terms of the elements you choose. Wind feels conditionally the strongest, ice is weaker but more consistently strong, and fire is powerful but a bit clunky to use. Definitely makes the ice element feel the safest and best to use. -Some of the fun/overpowered items and Liliput are locked behind DLC, I think you should get them.

Fun little roguelike from Cygames, a company I'm unfortunately way too into because of Granblue Fantasy. Not the same team. Apparently used to be a mobile game and this is the updated version? For $15 get pretty solid combat and a cute story. It's no Dead Cells, but nothing is, honestly. If you like roguelikes it's worth a shot for sure to support the team.
