Cozy detective game about nothing important. Takes the Golden Idol gameplay and puts it in a new context. The puzzles/deductions aren't very difficult (expect the last level, that one was a doozy) and it's all very low stakes. Kinda relaxing and takes your mind off all of life's bigger issues for a while, so that's nice. Not super invested in the story, but frankly it's only there to introduce new "cases" and the overall arch isn't really that important or interesting; In fact it only affects two scenarios. Cozy, fun, and slightly challenging.

A very sweet detective game with a light to moderate level of challenge. It's surprisingly refreshing to have the deductive reasoning be about light, everyday problems instead of grim murders and demons taking over the world or whatever. The different types of information you have to figure out are quite varied all of them tie in well to the cute aesthetic.

Little Problems: A Cozy Detective Game is exactly what it says on the tin. If you've ever played The Case of the Golden Idol (or the sequel), this is the exact same game, but in a cozy, low stakes setting. And I'll be honest, that really does it for me. The game and its artstyle are very charming, the vignettes which you have to solve are cute and paint a lovely picture. No, the overarching story isn't as complex or as compelling as The Case of the Golden Idol, but then again, that game is a masterpiece, and an interwoven story playing out in the background just wouldn't fit the vibe of this game as well. Rather, it's just a cute game with cute characters doing cute things. The actual puzzle/mystery solving elements are also simpler than TCGI, but that's appropriate for what it is going for. I was never stumped on a level, they all went by painlessly, and except for one singular cupcake collectible, I did everything without too much of a fuss. This isn't the type of game to frustrate you, unless mystery games are just totally not your forte. And just like TCGI, there's a certain amount of bruteforcing of the solution possible, which I think tends up being a good thing in these games, since sometimes you're 99% of the way to the solution, but just missing that one piece of the puzzle that could end up taking you hours. So, were the levels satisfying enough then? I would say so. They were excellently paced, had enough hints to their solutions, while allowing you to work towards the solution from multiple angles, and also not so easy as to not engage my brain at all. It was in that sweet spot of hard enough to make me think about the solution, but not so hard as to be tediously difficult and/or long. Perhaps a bit on the lower end of the "hard enough" thing. If there was ever a follow-up (which I felt like was teased), I think I would prefer if the puzzles were roughly 10% harder, but I think if they were 20% harder, that might interrupt the flow of things, so ultimately, the game strikes a good balance. Regarding the length of the game, I do admit that it's on the shorter side. I think I would've preferred perhaps one more extra level - though I think the final level is an excellent and fun send-off for the vibe of this game, ending on a murder mystery party - but I also don't find that it was too short. However, I can imagine that paying €10 for a ~3 hour game isn't justifiable to everyone. Personally, I got the game for €9 due to a bundle discount - with The Roottrees Are Dead, an amazing game, definitely check that one out - and I felt that to be a reasonable price for the experience. I don't regret spending that amount of money on it, and I'm someone who tends to be on the more frugal side when it comes to my purchases. However, I am also a fiend for mystery games, so I am also biased in that regard. Personally, I would say that this experience was worth ~€10,75 to me, which is to say that I actually think this game is underpriced for what it gives you. However, if you're on the fence, I wouldn't blame you for waiting for a 50% sale at some point. And at that point, I would say that the game is well worth €5, so definitely pick it up if that happens. PS: You can be a lesbian.

If you like detective games but wish they were cute and not insanely difficult, this is the game for you! I was able to 100% it with not much difficulty. I had so much fun playing and hope they add more cases or make a sequel one day

Very short game overall, but the atmosphere and feelings while playing are 100000% amazing. Wish there were more cases already! Some of the puzzles were genuinely hard to guess and I had to brute force them unfortunately. The trailer does not fully match up with the gameplay however, do keep this in mind. I feel the trailer was made before some things got changed, maybe this is also why it feels like I'm missing some context clues in certain levels if they changed some clues/gameplay nearing release. I'd give this game a 8.3/10
