This was one of my favorite games I've played in a long time. It's the perfect combination of an underwater Powerwash Simulator and a small-scale Subnautica (but every creature is some variation of an axolotl). The style is SO charming and despite the fact the game is relatively short, it's so easy to fall in love with. I got this game on sale, but I absolutely think I'd pay full price.
A bit mixed review but I think I had fun for 3 hours so more towards recommend. Pros: game runs smoothly. the game design is very cute. It is satisfying to watch nature return after you clean dirty spots. Little creatures thriving and eating food were wonderful to watch. gathering trash was rewarding as they are used to upgrade cleaning tools. I liked the mild post-apocalyptic vibe cleaning a polluted and abandoned ocean without other humans in sight. Finding employee cards was enjoyable as well. Cons: the gameplay got a bit tedious especially when I had to use the floor scrubber and microplastics remover. It was a bit annoying that the microplastics remover had to be emptied when full at home base only. Even with the booster and plants it felt pointless having to go back and forth other than to catch missed spots here and there. Fast travel is only unlocked at 100% of each biome. I also wish there was a bit more depth to the general world and lore of previous occupants and us.
If like me you are too much of a wuss to play games like Subnautica, but you still crave underwater exploration, this game is perfect <3 the loddles are so cute and the cleaning is super satisfying, its like house flipper and slime rancher had an ocean-themed baby - highly recommend, its delightful 10/10
Pros: The loddles are super cute and make you want to collect more. The oxygen losing mechanism isn’t too difficult, as long as you figure out that you can inhale bubbles to keep it up Upgrade system is satisfying and has a good pace that make you feel excited to keep going Perfect length game where it doesn’t get too repetitive Really satisfying to clean up the whole ocean You can make little toys and snacks to play with your loddles. The dialogue is super cute. The tracking system for the whole ocean makes it satisfying to clean it up. Cons: Really bad explanation in the beginning left me really confused - I couldn’t figure out the bubble system and couldn’t figure out how the loddles would breed, had to google how to remove the dirt from them. Why would the garbage come back after you clean the whole ocean? It doesn’t make any sense, you’re the only one there. Finished? Yes Steam Achievements? Wasn't too difficult! Steam Deck? I love this game and the spirit of it. Spent many hours meticulously cleaning with the help of my beloved little loddles. I even went so far as to making myself a spreadsheet just to figure out how to get what loddle I wanted, but that's just because it sparked a passion in me to do so - you honeslty probably won't need the spreadsheet yourself. My only regret is that it ends way sooner than I'd like. I would love to see more updates or even a sequel game! (Or prequel?) It's a very lovely cozy game.
