One of the games where you are a silly little creature doing silly little tasks to complete your quest (reminded me of TOEM and A Short Hike). If you like the sound of that, I highly recommend getting it, but only when it's on sale, because the original price is a tad too much for what you are getting in the end, which is more of a kids' game, but it's really enjoyable nonetheless. What I liked the most ✔︎ first off, the music is phenomenal, and it's even better paired with the visuals. I rarely come back to game soundtracks, but this is going to be one of the exceptions; ✔︎ the levels are not just adorable and pretty, but easy to navigate, and I never got stuck or was confused about what I was supposed to do; ✔︎ all types of collectibles are pretty visible and not obnoxious to get, and you don't have to follow a guide to find out that there was something in a random dark corner somewhere, which is nice; ✔︎ I cannot resist cute silly creatures, so running around as a cute mushroom was bringing me unmeasurable joy; ✔︎ loved the fun mushroom facts; ✔︎ the story is there, but do not expect anything more than be kind, be brave and be positive, which for me was heartwarming enough to not think about it negatively. 100% - if you are like me, and you just have to sniff every bit off the map, then getting all the achievements is not going to be a problem. Even if you miss anything, you can keep playing in the end and get everything you missed.
I cannot tell you how much I genuinely crave to play another game that gave me the same feeling just like this one. I loved every inch of it, and miss experiencing it for the first time. I always struggle to finish games to my satisfaction, but this felt like a breeze and I enjoyed every second of it.
my first 100% of 2026 and my first game I played completely on my new steam deck! it was an absolute treat from start to finish, the challenges were not too hard but not too easy & smushi is now my favourite mushroom ever! Heavily recommend if you want a cute, funny & enjoyable open world experience with interesting collectables <3
Finished this in one playthrough, around 5 hours of gameplay if you want to 100% it like i did, and getting every achivement isnt a slog at all, in fact this is one of the easiest, if not the easiest game ive 100%ed so far. The game itself is a cute exploration game with fun challenges and tasks along the way, ignore all the negative reviews saying some parts of the game are 'too hard' (they must suck because this game is honestly very easy). The design of everything matches very well, nothing feels out of place and the game itself is very simple. The only issue i could see people have a valid reason to complain about is the price, you're paying around 20 bucks for 5 hours of gameplay that isnt very replayable DUE to the game being so easy, so pick it up on sale like i did. In total, this game is good for cozy gamers, great for completionists, and fantastic for mushroom nerds, definitely wishlist this game and check it out for yourself.
