This is a very easy recommendation from me. Despite feeling bit dated, the game somehow still managed to have everything that a fmv should have (girl ranking, story/plot tree, ability to pause and unpause, etc) which is amazing as this was pretty much THE fmv that kickstarted the sudden rise of asian fmv. The story as a whole isn't really anything too remarkable. You play as Gu Yi who is broke and in a huge debt, but somehow™ in the midst of all of this you managed to stumble upon 6 girls who are likable, conveniently into you, and are willing to help you. Ignoring the rather unrealistic scenario, the game does do a good enough job at introducing the girls in a decent manner alongside being able to accurately portray Gu Yi's struggles whenever it does pop up, though above all, he is rather entertaining to play as, even if he can come off as being a loser (maybe even a creep?) in some situation. I'd say that the game does require some magnitude of thinking as not only does it have affection requirement in between of chapters where failing to fulfill it would resulted with the inability to progress to the next chapter, but some scenes also require you to think as Gu Yi since otherwise some choices just wouldn't ended up making any sense. Without going into spoiler territory, there's a dialogue where a girl would ask you if there's anything different that you can see about her. If you say "yes, your hairstyle have changed" then despite the game (iirc) giving you +affection for it, it isn't really the correct choice since typically MC wouldn't really notice these kind of changes, thus locking you out of one of her ending. It's a rather interesting & clever type of "gameplay" in my opinion since not only does it subvert the expectation of players where +affection = good, but it also require the players to play out the scene as Gu Yi over self-insert as yourself which makes for a fun & memorable gameplay if you do follow through with what the game wants, but if not then understandably you might be faced with frustration. In regards to the affection requirement in between chapters, I don't mind it too much since it wouldn't make sense for the girls to still be interacting and hanging out with you if you're always just be fumbling in every single interaction they have with you. Despite all the positives, my main gripe with the game aside from heavy restrictions by the developer (online-only + no Steam family sharing) is that I wish the story would go a bit on length for the characters, using my top 3 favourite girls for example: Xiao Lu is cool since she is about in the same exact boat as MC (in the way that both of them are broke), but her poorness isn't actually felt that much. Sure maybe she is bit hesitant to spend her money willy-nilly and is a budgeter, but there's rarely (if any) moments where she just outright can't really afford something or is being in the slums just like Gu Yi. While it wouldn't exactly be a nice sight to see, it would make the scenes feel more realistic since as of now whenever Gu Yi messes up, she would still able to cover up for him, seemingly without any repercussion. Shen Huixin is my favourite, but it would have been a lot nicer if more of their childhood stories could be incorporated into the game since I feel like it would make a lot more sense as to why she is endlessly chasing after MC. How things work out right now is fine-ish, but some more scenes going over it would be highly appreciated. Zhong Zhen meanwhile kinda got the short end of the stick by being introduced wayyyy later in the story. This resulted with her having the least amount of opportunity to "shine" when compared to most other girls, which generally make her the less favourable girl out of the other which is a shame since she's my 2nd favourite character. In conclusion, despite maybe possibly coming off as rather negative in this review, I did thoroughly enjoyed my time with the game. At the end of the day, Love is All Around is nothing really too special nor great of a game, but at the same time it isn't anything too offensive either. Ultimately, I believe that if you're a newcomer to asian fmv, then I'd highly recommend starting out with this fmv as it does a good job at introducing you to the quirks and fun traits that exist in fmv. If you're a well-seasoned fmv enjoyer, well good chance that you've already played this, but if you haven't then I'd still recommend giving it a spin as it managed to capture & encompass everything that a fmv should have while managing to set a baseline of what is expected of an asian fmv, and with the game frequently going on sale despite already rocking a price tag that is more than acceptable, then it's a no-brainer purchase in my opinion. 7/10 (this review was typed with QWERTY)

👍 Dumb, chaotic, and full of waifus. I regret nothing. You're a broke guy with debt, no prospects, and negative game—and yet six women still want you. Sounds fake, but it’s real. Visual novel logic, baby. You live your life, make questionable choices, and somehow become the center of a reverse harem. Don’t think too hard about it. Just enjoy the ride. 💃 The Girls (aka reasons this game exists): All six girls are distinct, full of personality, and somehow see something in you. Maybe they’re all just into fixer-uppers? Xiao Lu – The most normal. Works hard, cooks well, down-to-earth. Basically the definition of “wife material.” Sweet and simple. Lin Yueqin – Single mom and certified boss lady. Wants a man who’ll love her and her son. Strong, decisive, very family-oriented. Zheng Ziyan – Party animal. Drinks, dances, chaos follows. Wants to live life with zero regrets—and take you along for the ride. Zhong Zhen – Rich, powerful career woman. Busy 24/7 but lowkey lonely. Wants someone to break her monotony with sparks. (And she has a really nice house.) Shen Huixin – Childhood friend + rich CEO’s daughter. Has loved you forever and just wants your attention. Needs validation and cuddles. Li Yunsi – Online friend turned real-life crush. Same hobbies, same vibes. The one with a “secret ending” and easily the most grounded. Wants the MC to commit already. 🧠 My bias ranking: Yunsi > Zhong > Ziyan > Xiao Lu > Lin > Shen 🕹️ Gameplay Classic visual novel stuff—choices, routes, and time-limited decisions (light QTEs, nothing stressful). You do need to maintain a minimum affection level with all girls to progress chapters. No solo-tunneling early on. 💻 Performance Runs flawlessly. If your PC can run a microwave clock, it can run this. ⏱️ Runtime Roughly 12 hours to see all routes and endings. 🈶 Translation Surprisingly solid. Natural enough for the emotional beats to land, no major Engrish moments. 🎯 Final Thoughts Is the plot dumb? Yes. Is the MC generic? Definitely. But the girls carry the whole thing, and they’re worth it. If you want romance, drama, comedy, and a bit of fanservice, this VN checks all the boxes. Recommended for fans of love polygons, emotional whiplash, and questionable life choices.

I'll get to the point and say that I really enjoyed this game! At first I was like oh boy this is probably going to be cringy. This game felt like I was watching a tv series though, and with the power was in my own HAAANDS I made everything happen. Soooo I ended up getting really invested and theeeen 40 hours of play time and 65 achievements later, here I am! I 100%ed the game and I loved it so much actually. It took me a bit to figure out how to 100% some of the chapters, but it felt all the more accomplishing afterwards. This is the first game I've played in this type of genre and honestlyyyy.......I'm going to be looking for more after this! XD
