Alright Im going to have some pros and cons. First lets start with the negative... The game is Early Access and is in its alpha state. It is clearly noticable with the lack of sound affects, animation and graphics. Probably why it is also the price of a meal at McDonalds over here in Canada. Another thing that Im not sure about is the battlepass. The game is so alpha that instead of making a battle pass I thought maybe putting more sounds into the game would be a better idea. Alright now onto the positive. The game reminds me of older mmorpgs but it is in a good way. There are good fundamentals laid out here but it will depend how much comes out and how long updates will take. As I stated earlier I got this for the price of a Big Mac meal at McDonalds. The meal would have last me a sitting. So far I spent more time playing this than I would have eating the burger. And passing it later. I want this game to succeed but I also want people to know what they are getting into before buying. Dont go in expecting game of the year on Early Access launch. But heck.... Lets see how this goes.

I like being able to control my Lughs in battle. I like that you can party up with other players and help defeat Lughs and share XP. I like the cosmetics. I don't like that you can pay for all the x2 potions. Not much to do in the game at the moment. Very short main story. Hope to see more boss battles.

Unlike a lot of games that say they're Early Access/"Pre-Alpha", but are basically as finished as they're ever going to be as a way to scam people into paying for a nearly full price game, Lugh World is actually Early Access at the moment and priced appropriately - and launching with a sale too, which I think is very respectable self-awareness for a game that is understandably rough around the edges. The actual game itself has some things I already like a lot, like the UI not having the usual hotbar every MMO on the planet uses and instead having a compact little array for item quickbars on the left side near the MC portrait and your team of monsters on the right side in a little diamond formation. Swapping between monsters works really smoothly and easily, and using their different moves or directing them is nice. Fighting other monsters is really convenient and early unlocking of some AOE moves makes farming a few defeat based quests or just grinding a lot faster than in many MMO's that make you wait awhile to get AOE moves. I also so far enjoy how monster types work and interact, with typings giving a really strong advantage on fighting other monsters of the right type and lots of the early monsters being dual-typed. The two things I think is especially nice is that you can control your MC seperately from your active monster, letting you run around attempting to catch defeated monsters or using items while your monster is fighting - and you can still use its special moves just fine while doing so. The other thing is that monsters have to be defeated before you can try to catch them, so there's no fear of knocking them out on accident like in many monster catching games. Instead you just knock them out and then try for the catch. I also greatly appreciate that the character generation, while rough, has really nice colors and patterns elements already for hair and clothes in a way that even many triple A games completely ignore. The general world design is colorful and has a solid amount of verticality to it with hills and slopes, and while not super fantastic so far in that sense its still a lot better than super flat world design that is still common among a lot of developers. Running around in it is nice thanks to the absence of swim or stamina meters, letting you just actually enjoy running around and focusing on questing and battling - I like stamina and such mechanics when they're important in a game with a more survival oritentation to it, but their automatic inclusion is a bad thing in a lot of games so I'm glad to see they're absent here. For negatives, the faces for the humans look awful in that star ocean sort of way where its a very awkward attempt at 3d Anime Styling, and I'm hoping they reference other 3d Anime Style games that look much better to improve that aspect. Movement is also a little strange, especially with Jumping have no real sense of momentum to it even when you were mid sprint. The game has a couple of random crashes here and there, so it has some stability problems but they didn't seem super frequent to me so far. The biggest negative to me by far is the choice of font for the inventory, which is horribly unreadable even on a large monitor and in larger resolutions, and the kind of issue you can't blame on early access - thats just whoever did it on the dev team needing slapped upside the head and told to fix it. There's also a general lack of much in the way of accessibility options, which I hope get added.

borderline recommending because i think they released the game too early, which is pretty bad for an mmo especially cuz people are just gonna write this off after this initial launch, alpha or not. theres islands to explore after youre done with the main quests which will take you an hour or so to finish. i think theres potential here but yeah, dont expect a full mmo experience right now

The game still looking an alpha test, has a lot content, few quests, but then, it has no information that shows you where to go after, so ppl just thinking that the game is just the first FARM island. The Boat NPC has more at least 8 different more islands to explore and capture. Pros: - Category capture-like - Variety - Dailies - Skins - Status Lugh to min-max - World-Boss - "Shinnies" - and etc... Cons: - Lack of Info - Chat system can improve - Prices of potions too high - Prices of crystals too high - EXP to Battle Pass too high - We need a bike to walk around, cities and no-monsters area... But is an MMO, need to farm, grind, dailies, difficulties and etc.... game is awesome and has a lot to improve here and there.
