After spending several hours with this game, I started to realize how different it feels compared to most farming sims I’ve played. Even though it shares familiar mechanics with Stardew Valley —like farming, raising animals, fishing, crafting, and mining—the overall experience feels much more relaxed. What I personally love: • Vibrant, colorful visuals • Large areas to explore • Unlimited inventory space • Easy fishing mechanics • Simple combat mechanics • No stamina system • No need to sleep • No penalties or punishments • No time-limited quests • Farm animals actively help with daily chores Things that may feel a bit lacking for some players: • NPCs don’t have deep backstories • No home interior design options https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3618712969 Overall, this game is perfect for a cozy, relaxing experience, especially during long, chill sessions. However, if you’re used to playing Stardew Valley and expect deeper mechanics, richer NPC stories, or more challenging gameplay, you might feel a bit underwhelmed.

hmm, didn't realize i had spent 86hrs on this game. + old-school Korean MMO vibe. + overall aesthetics. + infinite inventory. + casual difficulty. + puzzles. + snow biome. + farming. + Lumas. + the ending. - common quests are tedious and repetitive. - doors and ladders inside the house are Starfielded. - recipe ingredient info keeps rotating. - pet often outrun you. - skeleton musketeer ignores physics. - lags when another player is zoning or when they are in the snowy biome. - keymap indications do not change dynamically. - functional buildings are described as decorative. - the "Rocket" monument is disappointing. - It's Alive! achievement bug. - can't orient the character with the mouse cursor. - can't use shops and chests simultaneously in co-op. - can't split or manually input item amount. - can't keymap alternative. - can't keymap X (remove). - can't move buildings. - no shortcut for zooming in and out. - no speed buff for running.

With the latest update (pirates), there's now a "pin landmark" option, and you can use it on other players. A sparkling path will appear and lead you to your pinned target. This is the single greatest quality of life feature in a co-op game I have ever received. My girlfriend moves so fast in videogames that keeping up with her when we play together is impossible. This game has given me a quick and easy "find girlfriend" button. That is the greatest treasure. Thank you Luma Island devs.

COZY GAME BUT NEEDED MORE TIME TO COOK I recommend Luma Island, but with reservation. There are many things this game does that are really good, and some things that make it really unrewarding. However, there is always time to patch things over and introduce improvements. If in future the game does implement certain improvements, I shall have zero reservations in recommending the game to everyone. What follows after this passage are my detailed observations, but if you want a tl;dr version, this paragraph was it. Things this game does well: The visuals are very warm and pretty. It nails the cozy vibe pretty well. Very intuitive, you don't need to be taught most of the functionalities since they are either easy to understand, or button prompts. The camera movement is quite fluid and do not hinder your exploration. Having pets with interchangeable skins is cute and fun. They are quite functional too. The details in world design can be quite mesmerising. Puzzles aren't too difficult and offer just enough challenge. In short, this is what I would expect an evolution of Stardew Valley to look and function like, which is an immediate pro in my eyes. Things that need to cook a bit (or a lot) more: - The map is not helpful at all. The game treats the map screen as a journal and map combo, but it only shows the location of certain people regarding the quest you're following and nothing else. You have to remember which squiggly line is what. - There is no run button or toggle, which could've been helpful with a map this size. - There needs to be an option to either finely adjust your pointer location or to highlight it before performing an action. As things are now, if you have multiple interact-able objects before you, tough luck interacting with the one you want to. - Hitbox detection is janky for interactive objects. If a tree is blocking my path physically, my axe should hit it when I click. But you'll have to move around before your pointer lands on the tree which is literally blocking your way. - Professions are pointless. You can't eat the food you make or grow or forage or fish. You cant use the things you craft. Everything is for the sake of the profession quests and lose utility after said quest is done. - Levelling up tools is a pain because metal ores are scarce. - Nothing has any purpose. If you plant a few trees, your need for those trees is immediately over after completing the quest that needs a fruit from those trees. There is no incentive to maintain them or even keep them at all. - Combat is janky. Needs more feedback upon hitting an enemy. - No health, which can make for a cozy experience, but makes combat seem pointless. - No hunger or energy, which makes the game cozier, but then why am I cooking? - Game pauses and screen goes blank to indicate time of day changing. This is a bad replacement for the usual trope of having you sleep to end a day. Sleeping has little purpose, and days feel unending. - Village feels lifeless because there is no story, characters don't interact with you unless there is a quest. Nothing feels alive at all. - No way to upgrade your mobile home and no reason to either, since it does nothing but offer you a place for optional sleeping. - No way to label your chests, which is something most farming/life sims have. - No way to trade items directly with other players. - Items being collected by whoever passes by a workstation is a pain. I order 5 planks, my friends passes by and collects 2 by mistake. When I need those 2 back, he has to go drop them in a chest, and then explain to me which chest he left them at. Because this auto pickup happens, because you can't trade items, because you can't label chests. - Bottomless backpacks seem fun in theory, but because it is given right in the beginning, it keeps getting more and more cluttered. Also, making chests seem pointless except when you need to exchange items with other players. But that too requires all of you to plumb the bottoms of your bottomless backpack to see who has picked up what since everyone picks up everything by accident. I wish the developers looked at other farming sim games and implemented a few of the things that give them their heart and soul. This game is beautiful and comfy, but there is nothing that will bring me back here after I have done everything once and revealed the entire map. The functional bones that make it a sim, or a farming game, or a cozy life, are absent.

Overall this a great game if you like relaxing, grindy, low-stakes play! I love Stardew, but I was always annoyed by the limits - the need to sleep, the stamina bar, etc... I just wanna hang out and chop trees and not worry about anything. This game absolutely scratches that itch! No energy/stamina limit, no requirement to sleep, and best of all, INFINITE INVENTORY! It's great for just letting go of your stress and doing whatever you want in the game. There are two things though that REALLY dampen the fun, so if either of these bug you then it may not be the game for you. 1. For the love of god devs, PLEASE FIX THE MAPS. The maps in this game are USELESS and given how big the areas are, it makes gameplay PAINFUL at times. In the town map, nothing is labeled, you can hardly even tell where the buildings are, it's literally no better than just having no map at all. And the world maps don't show you ANYTHING, no marked campsites, points of interest, temples, nothing. So you'll end up spending a ton of time lost and wandering around in circles trying to find somewhere you've already been. This HAS to be fixed, it's literally the largest friction point I've found and it is extremely frustrating. 2. Lack of fast travel. I know there are a couple of options for fast travel in the game but they're really not very functional. It would be MUCH better if they would make it so that the campfires at the various campsites could transport you, or they could put in puzzle shrines that open up transport, ANYTHING. This is a huge world which is great, but good lord the schlepping back and forth gets OLD. Aside from those two things, this is probably my favorite cozy game, and it seems like the devs are still making improvements, so I definitely think it's worth buying and sticking with it while things keep getting better.
