System requirements

These are the minimum specifications needed to play the game. For the best experience, we recommend that you verify them.

Windows
  • OS: Windows 10, 11 (64bit) or later
  • Processor: Intel Core i5-8400 / AMD Ryzen 3 3300X
  • Memory: 4096 MB RAM
  • Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070 / AMD Radeon RX 580 (8GB VRAM)
  • DirectX: Version 12
  • Storage: 2 GB available space
  • Additional Notes: To achieve optimal performance on minimal required hardware, I recommend playing at 1080p with Resolution Scale set to ~65% and all graphics settings on High. Use this configuration as a starting point and adjust settings accordingly if your hardware is below or above the minimum requirements.

Lunar Eclipse is a small indie game on Steam developed almost entirely by a single person, and that alone deserves respect. At the time of this review, the game can be fully completed in roughly two-three hours. While there is clearly a lot of story content still missing, the game is already very polished and fully playable. I did not encounter any bugs or technical issues during my playthrough, which is honestly impressive for a project of this size. The core idea behind the game is very strong. Visually, it looks great. The graphics are well made, the attention to detail is excellent, and the overall atmosphere of the game is beautiful and oddly soothing at the same time. The heroine is quite funny and really charming. There is a clothing system that lets you change outfits, and a stamina bar that is consumed when running or attacking. That said, this is not an action-focused game at all. If you go in expecting fast-paced combat, you will likely be disappointed. Lunar Eclipse feels much closer to a puzzle and reflection game, very reminiscent of early PS1-era Resident Evil titles, but presented in full 3D. Slow movement, and careful exploration are clearly intentional. Unfortunately, the game suffers a bit from comparisons to other titles like "The Killing Antidote". On the surface, there are similarities such as camera angles, a customizable character, zombies, and abandoned laboratories. However, the focus could not be more different. This game is not about action, and I think many players may misjudge it because of those comparisons ! Movement is intentionally clunky. The heroine is slow, her attacks take time, and dodging feels heavy. Combat is easily the weakest part of the experience right now. Enemies barely react when being hit, and encounters often boil down to hitting an enemy a few times, backing away, then repeating the exact same pattern. It strongly reminds me of doing knife-only runs in old Resident Evil games, where combat feels more like a chore than a challenge. For now, the killing aspect is simply not very engaging. If the developer plans to continue expanding the game, I really hope they rethink how combat is handled. This does not mean turning the game into a fast-paced shooter, but perhaps introducing a limited shooting mechanic could help. Considering the heroine is a young girl with no combat experience, things like poor aim, scarce ammunition, or unreliable weapons could fit the tone perfectly and add tension instead of action-heavy gameplay. That said, the puzzle design is genuinely good. Some puzzles are challenging and took me quite a while to solve, which I appreciated a lot. Occasionally, they can feel confusing, especially if you do not think the same way as the creator, but that is also part of the charm of indie puzzle design. Overall, Lunar Eclipse already has a solid foundation. The atmosphere, visuals, and puzzle design are strong, and the game feels lovingly crafted. While combat needs improvement, what is currently there shows a lot of promise. I am very curious to see where the developer takes this project next.

The game is really good, but is only partially finished. Pros: -The game runs great and is surprisingly polished! -The game is visually gorgeous and is really fun! -Slow, methodical puzzle game. -most puzzles were challenging enough without being too obtuse. -They hook you with the hot protagonist, then the story is actually sweet and heartwarming. Cons: -Game is not yet finished, this is really more of a long demo than a game. -A couple of the puzzles don't offer enough to solve without a huge leap in logic. -Controls are a bit stiff, but not bad at all. -The codes for the lockers in the Men's locker room by the pool need more of a hint! Drove me crazy trying to figure those out! Had to search for a guide. Verdict: I can't wait to play the finished game and I look forward to it's launch! This is NOT an action game like Killing Antidote, it's a slower puzzle game. If that's your jam, you'll like this game. If you're patient and want to support the devs, buy it. If you're hoping for a complete experience, wishlist and wait. At this point, the game only consists of the starting area from the demo, a basement area, and a small mansion-like area. The last area doesn't have any enemies. Guns are coming in the future, but for now, you only get a knife. In it's current state, it's absolutely not worth the $15. But like I said at the start, it's surprisingly polished and if the final product is as good as this extended demo, it's going to be a great game!

Being as that I have play The killing antidote (great game), this game definitely has potential. Core is there but there is problems 1.) combat feels grossly underwhelming. Knife strikes have no weight or follow through I get she is weak and slow reactions but there needs to be a feeling of impact. Animations feel stiff and un-natural. Now she is not a super special forces Jodi but maybe rethink the animations for attacks to give the feeling that she has some basic knowledge of what to do with the knife; but make the animations reflect that. She holds the knife close to her chest in a way that reflects she is unsure and reluctant to use this. When each hit occurs show the unease with somewhat hesitancy. But when the knife hits add the impact of the hit not with a typical stagger but have the knife get stuck or caught slightly making the zombie flail a little something to show we both hit and she is not quite sure. If attacking directly still have that insecurity with the knife but a little more determined because the zombo sees her. 2.) Walking animations. Now again not expecting super model jodi wak here cause Jodi strutting and we know why. But when we first start the game the walking animation is perfect reflects the oh no I am in a towel and everything is dirty and not wanting to touch stuff arms at chest height the slight tippy toe perfect. But after we get her outfit maybe a more causal walk arms casually at sides slight sashay. after a while of playing and see her animations they start to feel strange and her stance has caused issues of her blocking small objects at certain angles. (personnel thing here). 3.) the dodge is awful I get what your going for but the "eh, ugh, arrgh" and little stumble backwards is awful. I have seen children dodge jump-scares from their house cat better than this. its an awful animation and feels pointless to use if its faster to just back up since the zombies are so slow and sluggish. the weird voice over lines for the dodging also awful. Maybe increase the distance she stumbles or have her slightly jump backwards just not what is currently there. 4.) voice over lines, could use fixing they feel and sound gross like I used my windows text to speech now don't take this as go get 1 million dollar paid actors but it could use work its very grating to hear and removes the immersion that we are not robots. I had to silence her voice. This is more a nit pick than anything sometimes you can't fix this due to budget. 5.) I would love a inventory sort button. Pretty please. 6.) Changeable hairstyles definetly would absolutely love this. Hair color too. 7.) clothes now this is not required but more of a hopeful request killing antidote has damage effects which are really cool. You do not have to add damaged effects that are as revealing as that but would be awesome to see the cuff and visual effects like blood stain or dirt affect the clothes. 8.) similar to above but damage effects to the character when taking to many hits, bruising, scratches, minor lacerations, abrasions etc. love those little details. great stuff not mandatory. 9.) animations dealing with walking up and down stairs would be cool especially if your running. not important but really cool. 10.) Some facial animations especially if your character is getting hit and after like grimacing, squinting and facial sets that add immersion that your character hurting, better feed back on taking hits would also be nice currently I see some zombies attack me but nothing is registered making me think the zombie missed me. 11.) Health bar is weird I thought the squares were all my health bar like stellar blade but its one health bar might be better to simply if it or make it so that it correctly registers with players so that hey are not thinking each box is a unit of health. 12.) more ambiance, currently the music and sounds are nice but a little more would be great to feel that hollow emptiness and add to being alone. Now to positives. Character model looks good aside from some touch up and little things like animations and visual effects she looks great. The puzzles are simple but fun to do, I did like the constellation puzzle gave it an otherworldly alien vibe to it really nice. Story is interesting but might needs some additional work comes off a bit stiff. Interesting though like whats this about the incubator and why? The game is fun just needs more work and I enjoyed what I play hope to see more quality of life improvements and additions in the future would recommend to others as there is definitely something here I would like to see realized. I know I ragged on it (see above) but I actually took the time to put in what I felt could be improved because the game is pretty good I want to see it come to life more fluently. If I didn't give a ♥♥♥♥ I would have left some generic garbage reason like game not good rock better kinda thing but hope this helps ya'll stay safe out here.

A very worthy project. Yes, at this stage there is very little content. BUT! Very good visuals. It is really nice to play. You can feel the fragility of the heroine. At the same time, interesting internal dialogues. Non-trivial puzzles. In general, it looks very promising. I hope the sequel will not be long in coming. Of the minuses, I can note the weak combat so far.
