Bought it on sale and ended up having alot of fun! I couidn't really follow the plot that well because of bad translations or whatever, Although ignoring that, the combat was F***'n sweet with decent weapon choice and combos to match them. My one grievance is the metric s**t ton of stun locking in the game (just venting a bit sorry!). Then of course there's the outfits... Well what can I say, the Devs' do good work, Really... REALLY good damn work.
Repeat it after me: This is NOT chinese Dark Souls! It's chinese Nioh! -Bloody Spell has extremely good and satisfying fast-paced combat without that cancerous stamina bar, for starters. You can spam and mash to your heart's content. -The game is somewhat easy. I finished it twice (first on normal, then on hard) and I never experienced it's rogue-lite (i.e lose everything) terrible feature, thank God. -There are plenty of game modes outside the story (which is 10 chapters long and will take about 15 hours to complete, if you explore everything). They are: Duel (against 5 NPC's), Survival (pretty much battle royale against NPC's who are ghosts of real players), Trials (6 floors), Challenge Mode (called "Bloody Palace", with 51 floors to conquer), Training and online PVP and Co-Op (that doesn't even work), plus Workshop support (mods). -I unlocked every achievement but one (for it requires working servers, which, at the time of this review, are dead, as stated earlier, or by buying a DLC). And why does this even matter, to begin with? Because Bloody Spell has an awesome feature that rewards the player with skins, items and currency for every achievement earned. -Story has some interesting twists and turns that will not be addressed further, due to spoilers. -Sound, music and voice acting are top notch. Not much to be said. -Locations range from prisons, caves, forests, mountains, shrines, temples, (what I believe to be) the spirit realm and hell. -Plenty of loot to acquire and mini-games to waste your time with (for the majority are boring). -Different enemy types, instead of the same old same old cannon-fodder, everywhere. -Performance is kinda bad, however. Got LOTS of slowdown and hiccups but never got a single crash, nor experienced any bug and glitch. Just buy it. It's an awesome game that deserves every penny.
Regarding the sexual content tag this has some costumes and tiddy monsters and tiddy priestesses but thats about it. Its a pretty fun game otherwise but it feels like it coulda been a budget title on the Xbox 360. I kinda liked that but it might not be for everyone Graphics are abit plain but charming altho some things have cleary more polygons *wink wink nudge nudge* Translation is spotty to nonexistent in places and text often spills over. Its manageable The combat is fun and has oomph to it. Played it on normal and the difficulty felt about right, altho in the later levels the enemies tend to do alot of multihit BS. The sort where ya just gotta stay away until theyre done having a seizure Bought this at full price and dont regret it, if ya can get it on sale go for it
