Zero musical education, unlimited confidence. I am the greatest conductor alive, and if something sounds wrong, it's obviously the violinist's fault. 🎼🎻 Gameplay / Concept: Maestro genuinely makes you feel like you're conducting a real orchestra. It's an incredibly immersive and unique VR rhythm experience, easily one of my favorites alongside Audio Trip and Drums Rock. And yes, I occasionally wave my arms threateningly at the violinists when I miss a note. They should really practice more. Hand Tracking & Immersion: The hand tracking is fantastic! Try holding a pencil like a conductor's baton, and suddenly the whole experience feels ridiculously realistic. I also love how the developers have turned the maestro's assistant into a walking meme. Such a fun little touch! Difficulty Balance: There are three difficulty levels: Easy, Medium, and Hard. Easy is easy, Medium feels just right, but Hard? That's like going from conducting a school orchestra to being thrown on stage with the Berlin Philharmonic after watching a five-minute YouTube tutorial. 💀 I'd honestly suggest renaming the current Hard mode to Expert and introducing a new Hard difficulty to bridge that massive gap. Verdict: An incredibly fun, immersive, and surprisingly convincing conducting experience. A must-try for VR rhythm game lovers! 10/10. The orchestra is lucky to have me. The violinists might disagree. 🎻😂
I mostly recommend this game. Even though this game is good, it is not like conducting and is more like beat saber. None of the count structures in hard mode are accurate to the real count structures and cues are used in places where a conductor would never use one. If you are looking for a game like beat saber that is harder and goes along with classical music, this is for you. If you are looking for a more realistic game, I recommend the other game Maestro VR, which is way more accurate to real life (ignore the bad reviews, they are from before the devs fixed all the issues complained about by the community).
As a musician who sucks at beat saber this is a lot of fun. It's not always realistic with the conducting methods, but hey, it's a game and it's about 90% accurate. Definitely recommend for the gameplay. My issue with this game is the very limited library of songs (about 20ish including the free DLC). I only have about 4 hours and I finished all of the songs on hard mode from the main game and the free DLC. For this reason, I personally think $25 is pretty over priced for the time value, so catch it on a sale. I think the best thing the developers could do is allow free community made maps. This would both massively increase the replayablility, and could really help develop the community of this game. If they did this the current price would make much more sense. Also the DLCs with 5 songs should not cost $10.
This is what VR games is all about: 1. This is not just another boring "sim" of something, this is a proper game at the first place, well made, with the gameplay, some rewards system, great graphics style, decent DLCs, fine difficulty scaling and its most important - it's FUN to play it. 2. The game is complete, but still has active support with coming new free and DLC music, some QoL and so on. Then the VR genre is in decay, its great to see when somebody really tries to do fun games, which is extremely great experience for VR from the start, not just some VR mode for the basic desktop game where everything feels off. The game is kinda short by itself, but this is one of the few games, where you come back to play once more not because there are some unlocks or progress, but because it's just fun to replay again and again. I wish to say something negative about the game, and only thing that comes to the mind is the game lack of custom music, but its on the developer's roadmap, so, its not gonna be an issue. Probably if you do not love classical music, jazz or movies OSTs - then this game is not for you, but for me - it is the really great game experience.
