A mindlessly violent game about going postal, with the end goal of nuking the city. Not much more too it. Maniac is fast food gaming. Not much nutrition, easy to consume. Achievement Hunters: Super super grindy, not recommended unless you have a lot of hours and not much brain cells. Although there is an Editor mode that can shortcut you to 100% much quicker than playing the actual game. For example Destroying 100000 cars (which is perhaps the final) achievement is an epic grind of around 40 hours (in game without the Editor. ) So Editor is recommended, just not as fun.

Very similar to Hatred but the Color version. Chaos around every corner, the explosions are something to experience

Not perfect, but Maniac is exactly what I wanted it to be. It is a love letter to the original Grand Theft Auto but with no story quests, more weapons, and different characters that each have individual stat/unlock progression. Each game is a GTA kill frenzy that more or less plays out the same regardless of character, yet offers enough options and Achievements to incentivize the player to use certain weapons, target certain foes, or hijack certain vehicles during a single play session. I'm 9 hours in at time of writing, and can vouch that the asking price, on sale or not, is apt for what you get.

I like simple, stupid video games. This is one. But you need to understand that those qualities can be a great thing. Run around murdering people and blowing things up. Destroy enough of one thing (children, hot dog stands, taxis) and you unlock new characters, Last 20 minutes and get nuked. Fun, simple, violent, offensive. What is not to love?

It's a fun roguelike that's basically if the original GTA just focused on the actiony bits. Overall I didn't find it to have as much lasting appeal as I had hoped, as despite the different characters it always feels like I'm doing the same thing. To be blunt, it got boring pretty quickly. I don't think the game's bad at all though. It does the driving and shooting really well, and overall it's fun. That fun level just doesn't last long for me. It's certainly worth the full price of 5 smackeroos though.
