It's not bad! There's a lot of different choices when it comes to the roguelike aspects when you level up ranging from flat buffs to... And I quote... A gun sticking out of your but which can speed you up as it fires at enemies behind you. You can have summons, various types of weapons from a sniper rifle to excalibur, or at least if you can't pull excalibur out of the stone you can certainly pick the rock and sword up together and use it as a war hammer. There's a bunch of characters with different traits and specialties for example some characters will lock ranged weapons out of the game while you're playing as them. There's a Jester and what do Jesters do best? They juggle which means when you try to pick up a weapon he throws the first weapon in the air and upon catching it you get an instant reload while throwing the next weapon in the air. There's a lot of clumsiness and jank in this game which leaves something to be desired but I'm assuming this is an indie game. One of my main frustrations is the misleading telegraphing on enemy attacks. For example a red circle will appear, ok don't stay in the red circle. A red stretches across the floor? Ok when that hits full length don't be in it. What's that another red line, ok I guess I should... WHY IS HE RUNNING AT ME! That's not a straight line. Even the boss has this tiny line which is a cue for him throwing his axe across the map. Also while playing as the football guy my touchdown spots were appearing in places I couldn't physically reach. The biggest downfall is that the later chapters just let you travel to new areas of the same map. Not like a loading screen, the map is there but there's invisible walls in the way during the earlier chapters. I can see the effort has been put in to make the maps detailed but if I'm honest, I think there's room to add interesting mechanics and variety to the maps. I don't think this game needs a lot of detail and the devs have proven themselves capable of creating a diverse range of mechanics.
Fun little survivors mashup to play on the side when you got some free time. Theres currently around 45 characters or so and each one has 3 varying classes so theres a decent amount of stuff to try out you will enjoy it for at least 17 hours if you like survivors styled games and card powerups
