Recommended. As someone who LOVED Master of Orion in the 90's I was extremely excited with the original Master of Magic but ultimately disappointed as tech wasn't good enough for MoM to reach full potential. This remake seems to do a much better job of capturing the epic potential MoM offers. If you loved MoO and MoM in the 90's or are looking for a Civ/HoMM hybrid I recommend giving this a shot. Just leave yourself plenty of time for one more turn syndrome. Got game for 60% off which made it even better.
I have to say that to this day i play the original MoM, and although i still recommend playing it, this version is actually quite nice, it shows love for the original game. Doesn't have the same feel and in late game the turns become slow, but i actually recommend it. i enjoy it quite a bit, but still play the original one. The feel is just unique on that one. But thank you to the developers, this in my opinion e a very nice approach to remake a unique game.
Incredible remake of one of my favorite games of all time. While the remake will never be able to reach the amount of hours and joy the original brought me... this game is true to the spirit of the game and adds a wonderful modern engine and a lot of really fun features. I was a massive MOM fanboy back in the day, and love this remake. It was rough around the edges at launch, but it is polished and a beloved addition to my library now. Not a lot of remakes of classic games capture the soul of the original as well as this game does.
