This game is the closest I've found to the original Zoo Tycoon and I'm soooo happy it scratches the itch I get to play Zoo Tycoon! Great game to come home and play after a long day at work; doesn't require too much brain work (especially on sandbox mode) but still makes you think at least a little bit! I've played it both on PC and on Xbox via game pass and I much prefer the controls with PC.

might be the only modern tycoon game that lives up to the zoo tycoon games in my mind. might even surpass them! building in megaquarium is quick enough that you never have to agonize too much over little details. that might make it seem a little bit simplistic, but not getting caught up decorating for hours instead of playing the game means that the the management elements really get to shine. the campaign has a great balance of predetermined goals and freeform gameplay, which is something i can rarely say for other games in the genre. building the last sections of an aquarium and then zooming out to look at the whole map is probably the most satisfying thing in the world.

I grew up with Zoo Tycoon and Sim theme park. It's hard to replicate that exact feeling in recent simulation games but this game does it. I didn't know anything about fish but decided to give it a try and I'm glad I did. This is probably my favorite sim game since Banished.

I used to work extensively with fish of all types for over a decade and this is probably the first aquarium/management sim that has gotten the Vibes right. I loved opening up a fish info panel and seeing "does not like conspecifics" in the tags- that's how I knew this was going to be a good time. I love playing "fish sudoku"- trying to time when fish grow in tanks with their tank mates to make sure they don't eat them/aren't eaten themselves along with any additional requirements like if they don't like food competitors or if they're wimps/bullies. Really nice attention to detail, I definitely didn't binge 13 hours at once on my first day playing, nope, no sir.

Such a fun game in the old style of tycoon games. I hope that the same devs come out with a zoo game in the future because I think they'd really hit it out of the park like with this one. 10/10
