As much as I love the Ruiner franchaise, I'd have to give a lukewarm positive to this game. Visually, the game is stunning; however the gameplay is linear and cumbersome, and the story...... oooh the story is as long and convoluted as this run on sentence. Achievement bugs, skill buttons freezing bugs, UI clutter, and a jarring map layout are few of the many grievances to list. Subtle hints to the Ruiner universe are the callbacks to various names to the game: Heaven, Rengok, Hanza, Angels...etc. It's an attempt at world building for Ruiner 2, but Reikon games could've done a better job at it for a FPS game.
I'm giving this a thumb's up at 2.5 hours and also not playing any more. Why? Because this is clearly an excellent game that provides a superb kind of fun that I have zero interest in. I can understand why other people would love it. So, thumb's up. if you like highly linear first person shooter fights with lots of running and jumping around, this game is your thing. Turns out, I don't like that, or at least don't like this specific variation of it.
Fun game, good mechanics without being too complicated, and the aesthetic is top notch. Overall a good sci-fi shooter.. If that's your jam and you like the look of the of the teaser videos, I think you'll enjoy it. I picked it up on a whim and finished it in just under 7 hours and I think it was worth it.
