This is basically a Metal Slug / Contra like game, and thank God it doesn't have that twin stick bulls**t or controlled horizontal aiming. That alone makes it infinitely better than 90% of the dogs**t devs churn out these days. Finally, a game that respects your trigger finger and doesn't try to make you into some kind of joystick wizard. It's pure unadulterated autism on screen, you just go brrrrr like a real arcade chad, all gas no brakes, screen shaking chaos, pixel art so juicy it makes my d**k hard, clearly ripping off Metal Slug's aesthetic in the best way possible, doesn't quite hit the same level of art direction as the peak MS games, but you can feel them trying, and that effort is appreciated. This s**t feels like smashing quarters in a p*ss smelling arcade in the 90s, before everything went to s**t. It's short, but every minute is pure dopamine. No filler, no padded bulls**t, just straight up action. Now, for the niggly bits and yeah, this is just my autistic take, soundtrack's kinda meh, doesn't quite match the sensory overload on screen. It's passable, but it's not gonna get your blood pumping like it should, enemy variety is a bit weak, felt like I was shooting the same goons on repeat, and then some unique ones just show up for one level and disappear. It's not bad, but you definitely notice them overusing a few archetypes. And yeah, it's a bit on the easier side, not baby mode, but definitely not a throw your controller at the wall challenge. Despite those minor gripes, this is a solid game 8/10. Would absolutely goose 'em again

Fun and short, loved it. Only thing is that I don't get why is there a co-op mode, the second player can't do much. Other than that it's pretty good

Picked this up as heard about it from a friend of mine, thought it looked fun and man was I not disappointed. Imagine if you will, Metal Slug mixed with Untitled Goose Game. Now I know that you will laugh at that prospect but honestly this game is basically that, ever wondered what would happen if you gave guns to a goose and told it to save the universe? This game answers that question. In terms of level design, this game is short (Even shorter if you speedrun it) and honestly you'll burn through it in a few hours. This isn't a bad thing though as there is a additional world you can unlock on your journey however be prepared as the game difficulty does ramp up. There are different powerups you can activate on your travels as well as different companions that can fight by your side, having a mess around with them and seeing what works for you is always a good idea and gives you a good idea as to who to have fighting alongside you in those crucial moments. Learning this game shouldn't take too much effort even for someone such as myself who focuses on racing games over shooting games like this I found it to be relatively easy to pickup and play. The destruction in this game and flashes may stun some people but luckily this is something you can deactivate in the settings, which brings me nicely onto my next point: The settings of the game - KEEP AUTO FIRE SWITCHED ON! The settings do allow anyone to play this game, there is no difficulty option so this is very much a trial and error game but fun nonetheless. Co-op is a thing on this game however I haven't gave it a try so can't say much on that front but if you wanted to cause chaos with a friend then definitely do so :D Closing thoughts: Great game, short but very satisfying with its destruction and animations. Great handling of the main character and interesting plot although with the game being as short as it is you could easily miss it. Would recommend :)

2 levels in and I can already tell this game is well worth the purchase, and when it comes to platformers, I am not easily amused. This can be described as a mix of a story-heavy Megaman X level design with Metal Slug's run-and-gun, weapons, and vehicle mechanics, good cutscenes, and great music. The game has left an amazing initial impression, and I think this game should be in the tens of thousands of reviews by now. It's a pity how niche it is. If the devs still read reviews, my only criticism is the lack of an accessibility option to make the smoke and debris fire effects translucent. There is a lot of them, and all this thick smoke everywhere makes things confusing sometimes.

Rating: ★★★★★ - Amazing Time Played: 3 hours Gameplay: • Fast-paced, chaotic run-and-gun gameplay reminiscent of Metal Slug, with a modern twist. • Variety of weapons, vehicles and upgrades keep the action fresh and combat satisfying; You can drive an airplane, mech and surfboard and you can get a shotgun longer than a honkin' goose. • Companion system adds tactical variety but Commander Vark (Pig) was my favorite as he gave a unlimited supply of machine gun ammo. • New Game+ and the Boss fights are a highlight; challenging, creatively designed and require skill. • You have a special ability that allows you to honk on command. Story\Dialogue: • Story is simple, light-hearted, and filled with humour that doesn’t take itself too seriously. • Perfect amount of dialogue that adds character without bogging down the pace. Graphics\Music: • Vibrant pixel art with a retro vibe that’s polished and expressive. • So many bullets, enemies, their body parts and particles can cover the screen making every action visually satisfying but can be somewhat overwhelming. Screen shake adds to this but can be turned off. • Soundtrack is an adrenaline-pumping blend of chiptune and synthwave that fits the tone perfectly. • Sound effects are punchy, enhancing the feeling of destruction. Before you Play: • Ideal for fans of action focused shoot 'em ups games. • Use a controller if playing on PC for smoother controls. • Just because the credits roll doesn't mean that you're finished. There is one more mission before trying new game+ in the void. • Use the ultimate ability 'Mighty Goose' mode to gain invincibility and do extra damage. Perfect for certain times in hard boss fights.
