I used to play this on my Wii... it is nice going back 15 years and seeing the same places, characters, animals that you've seen back then. This is something that games allow you so easily. For those who never played mini ninjas, mechanics are simple, story is fun and the game is easy to play. You can switch between ninjas instantly and possess animals' spirits. A small action-adventure with a charming world. This makes me feel like I want to be a kid again.
I bought this game on a whim since I saw it was on sale, and I remembered really liking it as a kid because "hee hoo fun ninja game where I get to cast spells and do ninja things" Now as an adult, I'm coming back to it with a renowned appreciation for its surprisingly in-depth level design with pleasantly widespread maps, simple yet effective combat and stealth, and its absolutely stunning approach to artistic fields in its presentation. Every level is oozing with charm and love from the developers, and even today it holds up as a beautifully fun, refreshing experience. Also hee hoo ninja do ninja things
Played for the first time in 2026 and it held up, considering how old this game was. I was put off when looking at this title in my backlog because it was old and Steam said it didn't support controller support but in reality it did and ran perfectly with no issues. This game reminded me of Spyro, where you go around freeing your comrades, gaining upgrades to your abilities and collecting loot. It was pretty simple and straightforward and light hearted something I really needed in the darkness of winter. It's very short as I am a very slow patient gamer and it took me 8hrs to meander through it although I gave up about 75% of the way through trying to collect all the things. I would recommend this one for kids or anyone that wants a lighthearted button smasher with a lot of cuteness.
