Brakes do not work... kidding! the game is alright, however you gotta brake early to hit the apex better. Career mode is the same as the previous games. The 2009 story missions are kinda interesting to play, multiplayer is dead tho. I'd recommend getting during sale around $5, do not pay more than that.

MotoGP 22, developed and published by Milestone S.r.l., represents a carefully refined evolution of the long-running motorcycle racing simulation series. It stands as both a comprehensive recreation of the 2022 MotoGP season and a heartfelt tribute to the sport’s past, merging modern technology with nostalgic storytelling. From the very start, the game captures the sense of precision and danger inherent to real-world racing. Every twist of the throttle, every flick of the wrist, and every delicate moment of braking feels deliberate and weighty, translating the mechanical intricacy of high-speed motorcycle control into a vividly authentic experience. It is immediately clear that Milestone’s focus was on realism — not just visual authenticity, but the visceral feel of mastering a two-wheeled beast at the edge of control. The highlight of this edition is undoubtedly the “NINE Season 2009” mode, an inspired addition that blends documentary-style storytelling with interactive gameplay. Through archival footage and narrated segments, it relives one of the most thrilling seasons in MotoGP history, inviting players to step into the boots of legends such as Valentino Rossi, Jorge Lorenzo, Dani Pedrosa, and Casey Stoner. Each challenge places you in pivotal moments from that year, tasking you with recreating or surpassing their feats. It’s more than just fan service — it’s a celebration of the sport’s emotional highs and rivalries, and it adds a dramatic, human layer rarely seen in racing games. For fans who have followed MotoGP through the years, this mode alone makes the title stand out as something far deeper than a seasonal update. The physics and handling model in MotoGP 22 reflect Milestone’s continual effort to capture the subtle nuances of motorcycle racing. Bikes respond convincingly to shifts in body weight, throttle input, and braking pressure. Tires deform under load, suspension reacts to surface irregularities, and aerodynamic slipstreaming plays a tangible role during overtakes. Riding assists can ease the difficulty curve for newcomers, but at higher realism settings the game demands respect and precision. Managing traction out of corners, controlling wheelies on acceleration, and braking at the threshold before a turn all require practice, making every successful lap a small triumph. This level of simulation is supported by well-tuned AI opponents who exhibit believable racing lines and occasional aggression, pushing players to refine their consistency rather than rely on reckless overtakes. Visually, the game balances realism and clarity with polish. Motorcycles are modeled with meticulous detail — every bolt, decal, and reflection is crafted with care. The riders’ animations are fluid and natural, especially when leaning into corners or shifting weight during braking. Track surfaces show convincing weathering and rubber buildup, and lighting conditions shift realistically as the race progresses. While some background textures and crowds betray the limitations of Milestone’s aging graphics engine, the overall presentation remains immersive. The sense of speed, the roar of engines, and the lighting of dusk races contribute to an atmosphere that makes you feel embedded in the intensity of the circuit. The soundtrack and ambient sounds enhance this energy without distracting from the precision focus required in gameplay. Career mode remains the backbone of long-term engagement. It allows players to progress through the Moto3, Moto2, and MotoGP categories, building their own racing team or joining existing ones. Management features such as R&D upgrades, staff assignments, and budget balancing add strategic layers without overshadowing the racing itself. Customization is robust, letting you design liveries, choose sponsors, and personalize your riding style. These details make every season feel like part of a living narrative, one where skill, planning, and persistence determine success. Local split-screen returns after years of absence, providing a welcome dose of social competition, while online multiplayer offers stability and fair matchmaking, though its community size may fluctuate over time. Despite these strengths, MotoGP 22 is not a reinvention. Many systems and interface elements will feel familiar to longtime players, and the improvements, though meaningful, are evolutionary rather than groundbreaking. Certain environmental assets and lighting effects show their age, and some players might wish for more dramatic weather effects or dynamic surfaces to further push realism. For beginners, the steep learning curve may also prove daunting, as the simulation prioritizes authenticity over accessibility. Even with assists on, the balance and throttle control required can punish careless riders, demanding patience and a willingness to learn through repetition. Yet for all its minor shortcomings, MotoGP 22 succeeds in capturing the essence of professional motorcycle racing like few titles before it. It is a disciplined, rewarding experience that prizes precision, focus, and mastery over spectacle. Every lap offers a chance to improve, every mistake teaches a lesson, and every victory feels genuinely earned. The inclusion of historical storytelling in NINE Season 2009 provides emotional depth, while the technical fidelity and refined handling make it the most complete simulation of its kind to date. For serious fans of MotoGP and dedicated racing enthusiasts, Milestone’s latest effort stands as both a love letter to the sport and a testament to how far virtual racing has come. Rating: 8/10

Ahhhh the last great MotoGP game from Milestone. I believe my journey with this series started with MotoGP 19. I actually hated the game, and quit playing because I couldn't figure out the controls and had to lower the AI to super low difficulties. But time passed and as I watched more of the MotoGP season on TV, I just had to give the game another shot. So I grinded, and grinded, and practiced and practiced. It probably took a good 20 hours of gametime before I was finally getting the hang of how to control the bike. I noticed I was slowly increasing the AI difficulty throughout the season. Eventually reaching the point where I was setting it at 90 to keep things interesting. The sense of accomplishment was huge. The game completely programmed my brain to use my controller better. Not sure if that makes any sense, but it forced me to be more gentle with throttle input, and more precise when braking. Both are crucial in this game. It also helped with joystick control and preciiseness. The game increased my skills with the controller so much it actually translated into GT7. Suddenly in that game I was destroying all the license tests and getting gold, all thanks to my new ability to actually modulate my inputs smoothly. So MotoGP 19 holds a special place in my throttle body. And now back to why 22 is the last good one. From here forward they completely gutted the career. If you like a more deep simulation of running a MotoGP team (or 3!), you will not find that in the newer games from 23 and onwards. Researching upgrades sucks and is less involved. You barely have to do anything between races, and you can't run your own Moto 2/3 teams. Why did they remove that stuff instead of further enhancing it?! With 22, you get a great career mode, and on top of that, they even have the classic 2009 season to scratch your historical itch! MotoGP 25 was utterly dissappointing, so I bought this game after getting a refund.

This is head and shoulders above the current F1 games. It looks incredible and runs great, and includes all the current + 2009 historical tracks, historical bikes from 2002 all the way up to 2009, the AI is good enough without feeling annoying or OP. And the real highlight here is the story mode where you get the chance to "take part" in the 2009 season and experience challenges the riders have, complete with narration and cutscenes. It's a great introduction to the sport with one it's best seasons. The only "downside" of the game is that the learning curve is insane. It's absolutely crazy just how hard riding in this game is, and it will take you a while before you get it right. But yeah, solid 9 out 10.

MotoGP 22 is a tune-up that leaves a very good taste in its playable aspects. The driving sensation is fantastic and the new modes bring some freshness. However, we are facing a continuist delivery in several aspects. Even so, it is still a reference that fans of motorcycling will enjoy in style. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3429396985 https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3429399360
