f you like novel games with off-putting stories and good music, this is definitely the game for you. I love games where you go back to follow different choice paths and this game really scratches that itch. The story only really begins to make some sort of sense after going down at least half of the story paths, so I advise taking the time to be patient with the text and really dive deep to get the whole sense of you's character and the context of his predicaments. The music for the endings are so good and by themselves make this game worth playing as a music lover

# --- MY THOUGHTS: My one critical piece of advice is to only get this game if it's on sale as it's not worth the full standard price. However, I do think this experience (as it's not much of a game to begin with, even though it could technically be counted as a visual novel) is unique and pretty interesting in its own way. At some points of the story it felt as though I were living through a fever dream. Give it a try, if you have some spare cash and have literally nothing better to play. # --- RATING: 7/10

The music for the endings are so good and by themselves make this game worth playing as a music lover! Also, if you (the player) struggle with the narrating voice, go into the settings to turn it off and it makes replaying the same paths to get to the determining choices a lot easier to sit through. All-in-all, definitely recommend and love the vibe!

This isn’t exactly a game — more of an interactive story with minimalist visuals, a melancholic atmosphere, and philosophical undertones. It’s about loneliness, routine, choice, and the quiet thoughts that creep in when you're stuck between apathy and reflection. The music complements the mood perfectly — in fact, it feels like more time was spent on the soundtrack than on the writing itself. To really understand most of the content, you’ll have to replay the same segments multiple times, which might not be for everyone. You’ll spend about an hour on the project, and ironically, the most insightful (and not-so-surprising) details are best read in the "Guide" section — as if the work needs external explanation to be fully appreciated. It’s not for everyone — the pacing is slow, and the gameplay is extremely limited. But if you’re drawn to themes like isolation, coming of age, or just want something different and introspective, it’s worth a try — with tempered expectations.

This is a short visual novel with a surreal and dark atmosphere, centered around the character "You," a man struggling with severe psychological disorders and stress, believing he has a terminal physical illness. The story is heavily influenced by writers like Kafka and Camus , focusing on existential anxiety, the pressures of daily life, and the struggle to find meaning in a seemingly pointless world. Story Summary: The protagonist, "You," navigates through three days and three different chapters, facing choices that lead to various endings. Most of these endings reflect his inner fears and anxieties, such as the fear of death, loss of identity, and the futile search for meaning. The game frequently references nosebleeds and drinking bloody coffee, symbolizing his fragile mental state. Unlike many visual novels, this game deliberately leaves much of its story ambiguous, with most paths leading to dead ends or grim conclusions, and only one truly "good" ending. Why the Game Feels Confusing: Unlike Nikita Kaf’s other works, such as Monsters of Little Haven , which has a more cohesive and linear narrative, My Name is You uses a nonlinear and fragmented structure. Each restart reveals new details, and the constant shift between first-person and third-person perspectives adds to the confusion. The monotonous narrator and repetitive gameplay further amplify this sense of disorientation. Key Themes: Existential Anxiety and Nihilism: Inspired by existentialist philosophy, "You" is trapped in a cycle of meaninglessness, trying to escape but always returning to the same point. Self-Destruction and Mental Illness: Many of "You’s" choices stem from self-loathing and fear, with most endings reflecting his psychological collapse. Identity and Reality: Naming the protagonist "You" is a deliberate choice to immerse the player and force them to confront different facets of his identity through each decision. Positives: An incredible soundtrack, with a unique and emotional song for each ending. A dark, unsettling atmosphere created through grainy visuals and minimalist design. A nonlinear structure that encourages players to explore all endings for a deeper understanding. Negatives: Lack of quality-of-life features, like skipping already-seen dialogues, makes replaying the story tedious. The English translation feels dry and awkward at times, losing some of the story’s subtlety. Disjointed storytelling with abrupt endings that often lack clear resolutions. If you loved Monsters of Little Haven for its strong narrative and character development, it's understandable why My Name is You might feel disappointing. This game prioritizes mood, existential themes, and repetitive cycles over a cohesive story, which can be frustrating if you're expecting a more traditional narrative experience.
