TLDR: I think NASCAR 25 is the best modern NASCAR game so far, but I have a large amount of stuff I would like to see changed or fixed, as well as a good amount of nitpicks. I have also left a few complaints off this list (such as no unlockables) as this is the 1st game by IRacing As far as the price goes, I would only spend full price if you are a big fan of NASCAR games, otherwise wait for a sale. Each section is sorted by how important I think that thing is, and I will update this list as the game gets updated. Positive: Best the cars have felt to drive since the PS2 games AI are really fun to race Career mode is good, albeit a little barebones, but is regardless better than the Eutechnyxs and Heat career modes Online physics aren't the most realistic, but they make for some damn fun racing, just wish wall riding was less effective Graphics are good Neutral: The scripted AI spin-outs are serviceable but could be a lot better I don't have problems with most of the song choices, but the selection is constant tonal whiplash rather than leaning into 1 or 2 genres Negative: Generative AI appears to have been used during the development process No DNF's for player or AI AI seems to be perfect or beyond human ability when coming into the pits, as well seeming to get another lap or 2 out of fuel and tires on default settings No mechanical damage for either player or AI Appears to be missing missing a per driver reputation system in career mode No crossplay REALLY hurts this games online potential on pc Default set-ups for controller are rather twitchy, but it can be worked around through tuning No caution replay Certain tracks cannot be run under every series Driver Rating should NOT have as much impact as finishing order as much as it does currently AI reset back onto the track when "stuck" rather than just driving back No option to mirror decals in livery editor Cant export career mode liveries to a proper save slot Cannot set max FPS No master volume slider AI is not subject to track limits or penalties Watkens Glen T1 track limits cut off part off the racing line Cannot retire from races in career mode Cant reject sponsors in career mode, forced to abandon your old sponsor for the higher paying one Cant disable songs like you could back in the EA NASCAR games

Here's my honest review of NASCAR 25. First and foremost, Please do not think you are purchasing an iRacing type game, this is entirely an arcade game. If you want a simulator racing game, buy iRacing. Alright, now that that's out of the way we can talk about this game. First let's talk about the cons, I personally do not like that there are no replay features when a wreck happens, whenever you pit under caution there are no animations, And when you pit under green for some reason it puts your camera to the right of the cockpit. Additionally, when you first start the race for some reason your car takes off but nobody else's does and that is just a minor annoyance to me. Lastly my biggest con for this game is that when the wrecks Occur and they are wrecks caused by AI, they normally are the result of them randomly spinning out. While this doesn't bother me entirely, it would be nice if maybe they were wrecking each other similar to how a real wreck would occur and it's not always as if they're hitting an oil spot. Lastly, what I do not understand is that online you can look at the standings for where everyone is positioned at, but you cannot do that on single player you can only see the five people around you and then the leader. I wish there was a way for us to be able to check the entire standings during a race so that way we could see where everyone was at. Similar maybe to how NASCAR Thunder games were with how the second you paused it you could see the entire standings for that race. OK, So what do I like about this game? I absolutely love the racing in this game. For an arcade game, the racing that I have been doing over the past couple of weeks is just amazing. The AI is incredibly competitive and I love that you can manipulate the sliders to make them even more competitive. A lot of the tracks that I race at it's three wide racing no matter what and that is just so chaotic and fun. I have spent nearly 20 hours only racing the trucks. I have yet to even explore the rest of the game except career mode with the trucks and season mode with the trucks. My main reason for purchasing this was to play with the trucks. Even after I have explored all of the career mode later down the line and the championship modes, I'll continue to replay because it's just that fun. I have played a little bit of online and while it's extremely chaotic, again it's very fun racing. As someone who has been looking for a fun game to play outside of iRacing and NASCAR Racing Season 2003, this game does it for me. I'm not a huge graphic person, but even the graphics in this game are just beautiful. For me, This game does it all and I'm very glad that I purchased it.

After 8 Hours of play its finally time to review what I have been so excited to play since hearing of its development. It is better than Ignition, it is not better than Heat 5. It is clear that Iracing has never made a true to form 60$ title. The cinematics are lackluster for full title. No pre race anything, no driving down pit road, no pace start, not a single pace car, no flyovers or really any bells and whistles. You will not have burnouts when you win or see a trophy or victory lane. Just your less than detailed driver standing on the hood. The cinematics is a 2/10 which is really dissapointing. The driving however, the driving is fantastic (on logitech G920). No H pattern compatibility which is downright sad, only sequential. I would expect more realistic crashes from I racing but even when there is a wreck, it lasts about 3 seconds with no real avoidance needed. But Ive recommended this game? yes and here's why. If iracing puts the time into this game like theyve done with their subscription game, it could get a lot better in a hurry. Its not incredibly polished and it feels like they pulled a punch in hopes that they dont lose racers from their own platform. I played it for 8 hours in the first day ive downloaded so its not bad enough where I would put it down just also not what i expected from a long development. But why would i still recommend? Race fans finally have a title that isnt a subscription from a developer that cares about racing.

Ignore the flood of under 2 hour steam renters who thought this game was made to be a sim. It was always going to be a simcade, an evolution of the heat games, and console based Nascar games in general. In that regard it does not disappoint. Feel of the car on a controller with all the assists off, feels fantastic. Nothing like the heat games where you felt almost not in control of the car. You have to manage throttle input to prevent spinning and work the wheel to correct. Driving the car around the track feels the most realistic for this type of Nascar simcade we have gotten in a very very long time. I haven't tried it on my rig, because I know it would just be a disappointment after using it for iRacing for hundreds of hours. That is not why I bought this game, nor do I think it was intended to be. I would expect the FFB, haptics, and hardware support to be very limited in that regard and the game to focus on controllers. It might get better with updates. Aside, from that, the controller feels great. There is still a lot of the carry over issues from previous titles such as not having the option to control your car under caution or when on pit lane. The damage even when on full is still really forgiving. If these types of things didn't bother you on Heat it shouldn't bother you here. Track scans, and car models are top notch. Sound track is fairly good if that is something you leave on. Sounds in car are a step up from past games but still has room to improve. Menus and interfaces are pretty standard but do offer more options than past entries. Don't expect anything special but certainly better than the F1 games UI. It's a great Nascar 'game', which is what it was always meant to be. I would imagine the peripheral woes will get sorted in time and future installments will continue to build on the foundation this game is laying. As someone that has all the Nascar content on iRacing, and a 10k rig, I had no delusions when this game was announced that it was going to be anything close to a simulation, or offer incredible FFB and support all the features my rig is capable of doing. This is a console based, controller focused, officially licensed Nascar video game. The best one we have gotten in a very long time.

Leaps and bounds better than Heat 4/5. And those weren't bad games. Excited to progress my career and race online.
