This game is VERY reminiscent of playing an old PS2 racing game that you loved as a kid, but no one else seemed to get. Despite the game releasing in 2022, I find myself feeling nostalgia for a game that never existed back then. It's incredibly addictive, especially for anyone who grew up playing video games in the late 90s and early 2000s. The mobile roots can be seen in spots, but this is very much a complete game on PC with no microtransactions or DLC. It's also optimized very well, I'm able to get 120fps on my Ally Z1E at max settings and the game takes a little over 300mb of space. Also, for those complaining about there car accumulating damage without hitting anything, going off course is what causes it. I only have two minor criticisms. One is that the tracks can get a little repetitive in the later championships, but that's something I look past with a small indie developer. Two is the lack of true RWD cars. I'm not sure if this is due to something lacking in the physics engine or a way to make things easier for mobile players, but I was disappointed when I bought the Lancia Stratos expecting a a mid engine RWD monster, only to find that the closest you could get to it was a 65/35 split AWD drivetrain. My brain doesn't like having the handful of cars that are supposed to be RWD handle in a completely different manner than expected. I really hope this is fixed in an update or at least in Rush Rally 4.
Rush Rally 3 is one of the best rally games I've played. The physics are surprisingly satisfying, with cars that feel planted yet challenging to control. Don't expect cutting-edge graphics, but they can be improved significantly with ReShade (sharpening, bloom, HDR, MXAO), making the game look much better. I only wish it had fog or more atmospheric weather effects. The engine sounds are fantastic,honestly better than some official WRC titles. There's also a great variety of maps and stages, plus a solid roster of upgradeable rally cars. its fun. feels like a stereotypical package you would get on a ps2 in the best way possible. fun gameplay with a bunch of modes to complete and some unlock progression the handling is forgiving, perhaps maybe too much. the cars are really glued to the ground and its hard to lose traction (but easy when handbraking), its also easy to brake and limit your speed. the game is very friendly for handbraking thru turns, inducing some oversteer thru said handbrake is really easy and dont have much risk involved. this means some accessible and potentially cool drifting. then i started unlocking faster cars and it is starting to feel a bit more demanding to keep in control, which is nice. the default tuning of the controls for the controller feels GOOD, which cant be said about something like assetto corsa. keyboard also seems to be pretty responsive tho i didnt test it much so there is this glueiness to the driving but it still has its charm and fun. its not completely glued to the point of being too stiff and unenjoyable. and cars ARE agile in spite of this too. the graphics are lofi and they work and look good for their purpose. and game is optimized AMAZINGLY, respect to the developer. system reqs look reallyyyy low. theres a bunch of modes to complete, should take a fair bit amount of hours to do most of the stuff. theres racing against cpu oponents in rallycross mode too. i love that u gain money by just completing the events, u dont have to be 1st to get money. u can always keep on progressing. and the price of the game? awesome.
It was hard to believe that a game THIS good was entirely made by a single person until I read about Brownmonster and what a monster this guy is, indeed. This game features the one of the most satisfying rally experiences I've ever had. It sits comfortably between a full fledged simulator and an arcade game, providing nearly all the physics a rally sim has without being overly punishing. It's rewarding to learn how to attack each corner, each sector, until you manage to complete the stage with a good time. There's a great amount of cars, all very well known if you're a rally fan as yours truly. The tracks are great too, there's even a very fun Pikes Peak inspired hill climb/downhill, my favorite. I personally love the visuals, it takes me back to a long gone era where racing games were aplenty, the good ol' days. Being graphically simple ensures that any rig can run it flawlessy and if you're a racing fan, you definitely should give this game a try no matter your specs. I've played it in my desktop and in the Steam Deck, and it runs beautifully in both machines. It's smooth, fast paced and the controls are very responsive. I didn't even know that this game was originally for mobile. If I did, I'd certainly give it a try despite not being a mobile gamer at all. I knew I had to leave a positive review because of how much fun it is. Seriously, give it a try.
