Nice little game for $3. I got through all the game's content including the permadeath mode in about 3 hours (with some afk time in there) so it's not the longest experience in the world, but it's cheap. Definitely worse ways you could spend $3 for sure. Also all the bad reviews are just straight up skill issues. The game is a little hard, those whining and leaving negative reviews are literally just bad.

Nebulock, developed by LostVolBytes, is a bullet-hell action game that challenges players to navigate intense space battles against block-based bosses, sparing one from a myriad of less interesting encounters and enemies. It combines classic twin-stick shooter mechanics with strategic resource management and spaceship upgrades. Unique Traits: Nebulock has a robust upgrade system. Each boss, constructed requires players to dismantle armor, cannons, and ultimately, the core. This design emphasizes both offensive tactics and defensive agility during each phase. There is a resource-gathering mechanism where defeated bosses drop materials for spaceship enhancements, adding a layer of strategy to the gameplay, since you may lose a fight but still get an upgrade for the next try. Gameplay: Ship handling feels extremely responsive and you can’t really ask more…since rare where the times were I felt positioning was so precise. This characteristic jointly with the ability to select levels you cleared, make Nebulock a treasure as a practice tool for quick reactions when you are playing demanding titles of most genres. Soundtrack: Synthwave tranquilizing vibes mixed with eletronic sound effects for explosions, collisions and shooting, make an interesting argument for Arena encounters feel somewhat relaxing. Graphics: The visual design is characterized by its blocky, pixelated aesthetics, aligning with its focus on destructible colored sections until you reach the enemy core. This minimalist approach ensures clarity during chaotic bullet-hell sequences, allowing players to focus on strategic combat. For players who value positioning awareness over a screen full of fireworks, it’s a dream. Bosses: You will face a reasonable variety of mechanics and challenges, ranging from collision dodging due to artillery barrages or high speed direct fire. These aspects requires constant adjustment in your way to dismantle armor and target main foe components, provide a dynamic and rewarding experience. If a boss proves too challenging, players can revisit earlier levels to accumulate resources, fostering a sense of progression and resilience. Replayability: There is an interesting replay value if you combine the upgrading system with the multiple difficulty modes. The option to revisit levels for resource accumulation encourages repeated playthroughs, enhancing the game's longevity without being a grind fest. Difficulty: Early battles are notably tough, in particular under permadeath conditions. This steep learning curve require persistence from hardcore players. Bullet Patterns: There are intricate and dense bullet phases that demand swift maneuvering, enhancing the intensity and excitement of each battle. The best thing is you won’t feel like you need to locate where the incoming is at. Summary: 8.9 gaming scale Final thoughts: After clearing the main campaign and, as I comeback for new sessions or new updates arise by developers, I intend to keep revising this review. If you so wish, do leave in the comments your view about the title and your best scores

Absolutely loved this game, it's the best To The Core/Nodebuster-like game that I've played since those two games. It's actually a bit difficult, even on Easy mode, but it's soooooo fun and the upgrades really make you feel powerful. Wouldn't play this on Hard or Permadeath though, I suck at bullet hell games, but this was super fun. Took exactly 2 hours to beat the game on Easy, enjoyed every second of the game, just what I wanted!

A Very Fun Take On The Bullet Hell Genre w/ incremental upgrades! The Good The game is a lot of fun and the upgrades are meaningful with a good variety of bosses The different colours were a cool mechanic and highlighted the different changes to mechanics I had a good time playing it and if you struggle on the first few bosses maybe try it on easy. Easy just makes the bullets slower I think so it gives you more time to dodge which makes the game substantially easier. But definitely try hard mode first and if you can beat the red stage without too much difficulty you'll be able to beat the full game on hard. I beat the game on hard in 2 hours, I am attempting to play perma-death but.... The Bad The final boss of each colour actually tends to be easier than some of the normal bosses. If you've played you'll know which two bosses give the most trouble. The Red Spinny Shooty boss, and The Big Blue Boss that fires 500 Mini Artillery shots that you have to pure chance get through. It's actually annoying me a lot on the perma-death difficulty because the rest of the game isn't too bad it's just these two specific bosses are quite annoying. There's barely any gaps and you have to kind of chance it with what upgrades you take as rare currency is only dropped once per boss. So if you picked up something like damage over fly speed you're likely to lose. Another complaint is that when I use a mouse I frequently lose track of the cursor and having to hunt for it while you're meant to be dodging bosses and hundreds of bullets actually makes it hard. It's easy to fix though, just add a enlarged cursor mode and maybe a hue slider in the settings? The Verdict It's a good little game and for the price you can't go wrong. It was about £1 an hour and I'm currently trying to beat Perma-death mode. I'd give it a go at least and other than the 2 bosses on hard mode I struggled with it was actually quite fun. I never got stuck for long and working towards upgrades was fun and seeing the mechanics of each colour was cool too. I will say the early game blue/red area is the hardest part of the game, after those stages the game gets significantly easier Also you really should've added a couple more levels cause some people will definitely abuse that they can beat it in 2 hours even at this cheap price 😂 ★★★★✰ It's a very fun slice for 2 hours. It sets out to do what it is meant to, it doesn't break any mold but it's a £2 game. Just enjoy it, it's fun :)

Fun to play and balanced pretty well. Only 1 glitch where my power went off and the save file changed from hard to easy. Can finish the game in 2 to 3 hours and there's permadeath after which will take a while imo. I think what would make the game great is community workshop content where you can make enemies and waves and have different upgrades enabled/disabled
