If you love Gigeresque, or Lovecraftian, settings. this is the game for you. It is only about 3ish hours long, but it's a beautifully crafted world. it reminds me of both Giger, and Beksinski's works. Beautiful world. loved exploring it.

Necrophosis is a great little game if you're looking to scratch that Scorn itch. The environments are gorgeous and grotesque in equal measure, with a heavy focus on atmosphere and biomechanical Giger style horror that’s clearly inspired by Scorn. The puzzles are noticeably easier, which makes the experience flow a bit more smoothly, and there’s a little less left open to interpretation in the story and world. That said, I do wish the game were longer. My playthrough clocked in at around 2.5 hours, which feels a bit short for a $16 price tag, especially when Scorn regularly goes on sale for half that. Still, considering this came from a VERY small team, it’s an impressive effort and a visually striking experience. If you enjoyed Scorn, there’s a good chance you’ll appreciate what Necrophosis is doing here. If you didn’t like Scorn, though, there probably isn’t much here that will change your mind. I'm excited to see what's next from this developer.

9.6/10 - This game was everything I wanted Scorn to be. Fantastic writing, gorgeous visuals, an engrossing world and a relatively even pace throughout. The game was engaging, although combat was absent, which is honestly preferred. Scorn suffered because of its reliance on situations where combat was required, and it felt forced at times. This game does the opposite, and it works to near perfection. I never felt like I was playing a game, but instead experiencing a narrative that was executed to the fullest and allowed a vast sense of immersion. Very minor flaws present here. The voice acting is somewhat spotty, with animations being slightly stiff at times. The first act is a bit slow to get started as well. But these flaws pale in comparison to the positive aspects. A wonderful game that I highly recommend, and will live in my brain forever. Thank you for the experience, I am truly grateful!

EXCELLENT vibe. Almost any direction you look at any point in the game is practically a Zadislaw Bekzinski painting. Very interesting concepts raised, and very cool (if gruesome) way of exploring them. Don't play it if you don't want to confront the very real concept of meaninglessness in life or body. Also probably avoid this game if your grip on sanity is fragile, or you have a weak stomach. 10/10

I bought this game because I liked Scorn, but after playing it, it would be a disservice to call Necrophosis a "Scorn clone". Like Scorn, Necrophosis is less of a "game" game and more of an "interactive art gallery" game, with delightfully gnarly environmental and character art, a bunch of symbolism and metaphor, immaculate atmosphere and vibes, and simple "puzzle"-based gameplay. The protagonist even looks a lot like Scornguy. But unlike Scorn, Necrophosis has a much clearer stories, lore details are explained in lore collectibles, there are a lot of NPCs who talk to you (like fully voiced and everything), and there's no combat whatsoever. Where Scorn is a desperate struggle for survival in a hostile post-apocalypse, Necrophosis is a contemplative trek through a thoroughly miserable but mostly harmless wasteland. This game is basically a glorified showcase of the developer's 3D skills, and boy does it show. The 3D art is just breathtaking. The vibes, immaculate. Besides that, the game doesn't do anything particularly well, but also not bad enough to detract from the experience. The animations are rough, but not distractingly bad. The sound design is basic, but not distractingly bad. Character dialogue is esoteric, but not overly confusing. The story and lore are convoluted, but in a way that suites the vibes. The gameplay is simple even by walking simulator standards, but not buggy or annoyingly tedious. Etc. Game performance is very good (at least on my device), no complaints there. In summary, I couldn't tell you what the heck was going on or what any of it means, but it was cool and I enjoyed it. Well worth the $15 in my opinion. if you're someone who enjoys walking simulator type games and aren't squeamish to gore, you'll probably like Necrophosis. Grade: Quality (objective) - 6/10 Ok Enjoyment (subjective) - 8/10 Good
